VZ bill was about $100 or so a month for 2gigs and unlimited talk and text

Hope I don't regret it.....I already have a Verizon Iphone 4s for work so I figured why not save $30 a month on my bill...im actually getting more data 3GB vs 2GB and the coverage map seems to have me covered at full coverage...I picked up a GS4 Refurb from T-Mobile

Once I trade in my Phone and Give them my final Verizon bill they cover the Term Fee's and trade in value via Cash Card in about 8 weeks.

I also have a work AT&T 4G hotspot, the newest one they have , with 5 gigs I can use whenever I want for back up data.

Anyone have T-Mobile....experiences?

Like their concept and plans
found their coverage lacking outside the major city areas.

My dad is thinking about switching to T, and this is what I'm worried about too. With as much travelling as I do out of Ft Wayne...

Everyone tells me I'm going to regret t mobile and how bad they are. Doesn't matter where you live everyone will say they suck.

Since changing to tmobile almost a year ago, I now have better coverage at home I also have better coverage at work. I am the only person there that can use my cell phone in the office. AT&T and Verizon? Haha good luck.

Since going to tmobile they bumped our data max up for free. Just one day got a txt saying hey here's more data for being a customer. Enjoy. They also added free streeming. They also help you if you call them, you hit the button for a CS rep and it goes to a LIVE PERSON!!! Verizon's phone support wait times fucking sucks, speaker phone was made for companies like them. I shit you not between home and work I've had to sit on hold so many times for so long that I straight up know all the songs they play. tmobile also help you right away if you go into the store. My SIM card was acting up, went into tmobile told them my SIM card was acting up the guy asked if he could see my phone. He took it and turned it off, took out the sim, popped in a new one, asked for my number, and handed the phone and my old Sim card back to me and said it should take 5 minutes to update have a nice day.

I didn't have to sign anything didn't pay anything just straight in and straight out.

Bottom line, everyone says tmobile sucks because a friend of a friend said so.

T mobile has zero contracts. Worst case you leave tmobile and take your phone to ATT

To this day friends, can't believe I have t mobile when I tell them and when they hear I like them it's as if they think I'm lying about it. It's really weird.

Only thing I can bitch about is indoor coverage seems lacking. Verizon wasn't all that good in a big building like SAMs club but tmobile seems to be a bit worse. I'll deal with that for the bit savings.

All major roads show great coverage if you view t mobils covermage map. tmobile does have a lot of bad coverage spots across the country but if you look at where, it's in the middle of no where. All major roads have coverage.

Another thing to keep in mind with tmobile is

Free feathering
Free wifi calling

Sadly iPhones don't support wifi calling but all androids do. If you are connected to wifi your calls will automatically go over wifi.
You can wifi call on the iPhone but you'll need to launch an app first. It isn't automatic.

have had tmobile since my first phone. never had the others.
never had a problem or need to change carriers.

spotty service in certain areas, but nothing that has completely left me fucked. my wife has verizon (family plan with her folks) and there are some places that she gets better service, but nothing to write home about.

tmobiles customer service is pretty good. only had a bad run in a couple of times. but, switching to another person gets its solved pretty quick. also they are big on rewarding your continued loyalty. will waive fees just because you asked. like jeff said they sometimes just toss out free upgrades without being asked. and thanks to the no contract, any time a special runs, you can switch to it.
plus, like said above, all tmobile branded phones with android have the wifi calling and text feature built in. (can be had on other carriers via an app, but usually comes with a different number) so, anywhere that i have been that service didnt work, wifi was always handy.
and the audio streaming is now free, doesnt count against your allowance of 4g lte. which is pretty cool.

I have Verizon 2G unlimited talk/text $60/month.

For me, it's hard to switch to T-Mobile or anyone else. The cost seems the same unless you buy a phone outright.

2g? Tmobile I believe has a plan with 500mb of LTE And unlimited 2g after the 500 is used. Pretty sure it's $45/mo

Can you stream music on 2g?

Sorry 3G network with 2G of data every month. Not sure about music streaming ability. All I've done (rarely) is Pandora through my Bluetooth in my 4Runner and it worked fine. Most of my internet time is at home through our cable internet.

3g can easily stream music.

Looks like tmobile moved to a $50.00 unlimited txt, talk, and 1gb of data. Didn't see the $45/500mb plan anymore.

I'm going to switch to t-mobile soon. I don't know why I haven't done it yet -- I've been out of contract with AT&T since like 2012. I pay like $65/mo to AT&T.

After you add their "monthly payments" for a phone....it's a wash IMO. Or buy the phone outright but the prices are pretty steep to leave you with a $40-50/month bill.

People still make payments on a phone?
T-Mobile and a few other companies offer these low rate plans but the rate a based on you buying a phone at a huge cost or make monthly payments ($17-25/month added to your "low rate" bill). Galaxy S5 is $610 or $25.xx/month added to bill for 2-years from T-Mobile. Or go to Verizon on a 2-year contract and get a phone for much cheaper and pay $60/month (Galaxy S5 is $100 at Verizon) In my opinion, the math makes it a wash unless you want a cheap/old model phone or a refurbished phone or use your old phone.

Edit: my wife has t-mobile and I'm Verizon. I get better reception in our 50-mile radius we stay in most times.

or you just buy a phone off craigslist.
i got my s5 for 350.
my bill is half the cost of what it would be on verizon on a conservative plan.
so $50/mo for 24 months is $1200.
even if i had bought my phone from tmobile for the full $600 tag, i would still be up $600 for the 2 years.

im on a family plan with tmobile. 4 lines total. all have 5gb 4g(lte) data, with no overage charge. just throttles after. and we pay $50/each after taxes and fees.
for a single line on verizon its $110/month for 4 gb (no 5gb option) and $15/gb overage.
for a family plan with 4 lines and 10 gb of SHARED data, lol nope, its $260/month. for 20gb (what we have now combined) its $310/month.
unless you do the edge program. then you get a discount on the plan, but have to pay the full price of the phone over 20 months. so, you're in the same boat.

i dont personally know anybody on tmobile that makes payments on their phones. they either bought up front, or bought used.

If you want the newest phone tmobile is a wash with other companies. However tmobile does not charge you if you go over your data limit EVER. So you can reduce your data down and have zero fears of a massive bill because you went over 300mb.

Oh and free teather the fact that Verizon and ATT charge you to use data you already paid for... Yeah that doesn't sit well with me

My wife was out of contract for 2 years before we switched to tmobile. We laid verizon roughly $480 extra because they factored in new upgrades to the price.

I bought a Refurb SGS4 from T_mobile outright...not built into the monthly plan...it was like $300, im getting $150 for my trade. i'll recoup the loss after 3 or 4 months

So far so good, no issues with service. I think the Tmobile GS4 is Better then the Verizon GS4 though i can't put it in words how.

from what i have read, verizon does A LOT of bloat ware.
my buddy has the s5 from verizon, different than my tmobile s5. its odd.
