These snozzberries taste like snozzberries...

So I was parked at work today and a guy that works in the building next to me came cutting through our parking lot driving like an asshole. I heard the turbo on his Dodge Diesel spool up right as he came into our lot. He had to hit 30-35 miles per hour. The douchebag actually increased his driving distance to drive to his spot. It was 5 am and dark and he nearly hit a woman I work with.

Here is his driving path in red with the circle being his parking spot. The longest part is our parking lot. MAYBE 100 yards long.

I waited for him to get out of his truck and said, "if you are going to cut through the parking lot, you need to slow down". He responded with, "yeah, whatever".

So for this example, if he told me to fuck off or got in my face, I would have no issue kicking his ass. But for the debate, have any of you guys been in fights. I fight for a hobby and actually don't want to fight assholes. So here's the questions.

1) Have you ever been in a fight
2) When is it ok to fight? (or is it never ok)
3) If this guy repeatedly puts me and my coworker's safety in danger, would you be on board with smacking him around?

It's usually not worth it to get involved.
You beat him up, he sues, you lose.
You attempt to beat him up, he's carrying, you lose.
You beat him up, he knows where you work, he shows up with 15 hillbillies with bats next week, you lose.

etc

take his plate.
get it on camera

report it to building security.
maybe they will revoke his parking permit.

FYI, the red line is shorter than the green line so I'm not sure how he increased his distance unless I am misreading your diagram but that really not the point.

I would say its not going to be worth your legal fees, and god forbid you land a sweet shot and this guy goes down and hits his head on the pavement and dies.
Its just not worth it all around. As tempting as it might be, and as noble as the cause appears to be, this is something you're better off not getting involved in.
And chances are he will just end up taking it out on your car when you're not there instead of you as he sounds like a pussy.

Also, always try to keep in mind that you have no idea what kind of day this guy is having. Maybe he's running late to work because he was just with his dying kid or wife in the hospital, or maybe he's late because of a family tragedy or something. It's hard to know the situation he's coming from and sometimes you just have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

My life's motto is that if I'm not ready to kill the person over the offense, then I let it slide. Once you escalate the situation, you can't take it back. With great (lethal) power, comes great responsibility. My old lady and I get into this debate all the time, if I get cut off, or there's some noisy kids in the neighborhood, etc. She thinks my viewpoint is ridiculous but I tell her flat out that "I'm not looking to kill someone today". The chances of escalating a situation into a violent encounter is pretty slim, but once you start that chain of events, its very very hard to defuse the situation.

Only fights I've ever been in were for self defense.

Havent been in a real fight since middle school. Dont really plan on it, chances of it coming out well in the long run are slim as an adult. Everyone carries in FL, thats worth noting.

I'm not saying I was looking for a fight. It's the exact opposite. I am trained to fight. He was in a rush to get to his job as a FedEx driver.

Anyway, topic is for debate purposes. Not looking to validate if I would have been justified fighting if he attacked me.

I wouldn't pick a fight. I've learned unless its a life and death situation, it isn't worth engaging unless you're willing to put yours on the line. With B's take. You win, he sues, or even more go to jail/prison. I usually carry a knife, and used to conceal carry a firearm so I'd have no idea what the BG would have.

Also if you are trained to fight, you can be considered a deadly weapon, and your skills/training can be used against you very quickly in court. Felony Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon comes to mind.

I'm not by any means trained to fight beyond brawling and I know I'd probably take a beating. I have a mouth on me that got me beat up a few times when I was a kid. And has put me in some hairy situations when I was young, dumb, and ful of piss. After my brother went away, I've learned there aren't many fights worth going to prison for.

This is why you keep Me and Mark around, to keep you out of trouble. lol

Yeah I would just walk away and let it go. There was an incident here about 6 weeks ago. Adult soccer league. Ref was about to kick someone out of the game. Guy sucker punched ref, ref crumpled to the ground, dead. Married father of 2 young kids.

You just never know what the result of your actions could be. Not worth the chance.

Not to mention what your employer may think of one of their employees engaging in fisticuffs in the parking lot before work. Probably not the best look.

if you have a job, a house, a car, a bank account, kids, 401k, assets, ect...it's not worth it. The last fight i got in, which i know i posted on here at some point, i cracked some dude in the face on the side of the highway and he ended up going to the hospital... and I ended up in court which i got off easy with 1 year probation a small 75 traffic violation. I was lucky the guy did not want to press charges, even though he was the aggressor IMO.

what he said.

Well, everyone seems to be going to the same side with this debate (which I agree with), but we can't have a debate without sides!

[sarcasm]
So, I think you should fight every single person you come into contact with. Regardless of age, gender, sexuality, disability, or any other factor that may be used to differentiate the person you are fighting. Dump quadriplegics out of their wheelchairs when they look at you wrong, smack women and children upside the head when they speak in public, and push the elderly off their canes and walkers when they don't walk fast enough in front of you. In fact, don't even wait for a person to say or do anything to you, just walk straight up to them and punch them in the face. Better yet, hit them while they are not looking, from behind, with a large heavy object, possibly sharpened.
[/sarcasm]

Fighting doesn't solve much. But, to me, it sometimes feels necessary. Although feeling and logic don't always go hand and hand. Last fight was outside a bar with a drunk ass hole and I was out for reckoning. Beat him up pretty quick....he didn't touch me but I still broke my hand....I was also drunk and punching like an idiot...bar room fracture. And we obviously left. Felt stupid the next day and my hand hurt for weeks. Can feel the calcium deposits and horrible healing the bone made. Still hurts me every once in a while and it was over 12 years ago.

I would've retorted on his "yeah whatever" and see where he took it. But the best situation is probably letting his company know of his actions and hope their PR person deals with it. Then, if it happens again, hopefully they do something more drastic. But I can't help but to think a whole lot of nothing would happen.

if it happens again, notify law enforcement. then notify his employer and let them know you already called the police.
if he's a driver, chances are he shouldnt be getting any tickets, on or off the job.

Agreed.

As someone who has been in more than my fair share of scraps, fighting solves nothing. It does create medical bills and court fees. I'm speaking from thousands of dollars of experience.

Luckily, I haven't been in a fight in a few years. I need to take recked's mantra and ask myself if I feel like killing this guy. I see red when I do fight. If friends didnt pull me off a few times, I would be in jail.

All that being said, not fighting back has consequences to. Ive only thrown the first punch twice. The rest were self defense, although most times my mouth got me hit. My problem was always going too far. Self defense doesnt include kicking a down man in the head. Self defense is literally doing just enough to get away.

PS- I LOVE fighting. I hate the consequences. But as far as a stress reliever, nothing works better. I seriously wish amatuer fight clubs were more prevalent/not such a grey area.

So the long way to answer your questions.

1) Yes, too many.
2) Yes, self defense or organized sport.
3) No fighting at work. Report his ass.

PSS- I misread the title and thought this was a thread about fake tits and plastic surgery.
