It's only stupid if it doesn't work

I've always hated the high pitched horn on my car. Thinking about it, I thought I could grab a truck horn out of a junkyard and install it. A 12V horn is a 12V horn right? I'm just trying to adjust the tone, not necessarily the volume. Am I missing something?

Haha, what's the point of putting non-racing wheels on a car? Visually pleasing. What's the point of changing the tone of my horn? It'll sound better to be. Plus it'll cost around nothing and a little time wiring.

I used to always install truck air horns on all my cars... and based on the traffic patterns lately, I think I'll be taking this practice up again. There's nothing like a low pitched LOUD 150dB+ air horn under your hood.

That would be great, but I don't want to have much cash in this. I'm thinking something out of a F250 or a Ram 2500.

i went with a 2012 honda accord high and low tone dual horn,on my 83 civic. it works good.

Yup. That's exactly what I'm talking about. Small compressor mounted to the firewall, and a pair of the longest horns you can shove under your hood for the lowest tone possible. It's not expensive, and it's EXTREMELY effective. Stock Honda horns can't be heard for more than about 5 feet away at highway speeds anyway.
