I wear stretchy pants
So i'm moving soon and I'm ready to move to another sales gig from the usual car sales. The gig I had lined up sounds good but it's a big pay cut.

It would be online sales for a performance shop. It's commission of course but what bothers me is the first month will be 8.50 hour pay only. I can't live off of that! Afterwards will be commission on what I make the company. even still, it'll be just shy of half from my usual income per yr. of course unless I bring in some serious moolah.
Advantages: have weekends back; 10-6pm hours; vacation, growing business and moving to bigger shop in less than a yr.

cons: no healthcare; no overtime pay; -20k drop in pay

So my question to you fellas is. What are some other good sales jobs I should be looking for? I've been selling cars for almost 6 yrs so it's kind of all I know. Throw me some ideas please

Gay pröň. That's a huge paycut. The benefits also account for a huge number. Is the cost of living going to be that much cheaper wherever you're going?

If you like sales, go be a recruiter/headhunter. It's a legit job and makes great money. You don't have the public shaming of being a "car salesman" and it can transition into an HR role later on if you want to go corporate.

Just be like Toretto and get a crew together to start boosting semi trucks filled with electronics. You could get a small auto shop selling groceries and doing tune-ups as a front then street race at night.

Not a bad idea. Tech recruiters can make good money and work from anywhere. I was talking to an HP recruiter the other day and he works from home in Montana. lol.

hmmm good ideas. As of this morning I turned down the offer from the other shop. I know what i'm worth and starting at $8.50 hour for the first month isn't gonna cut it. Mrs. Taco did mention pharmasudoku sales. I didn't think about rep sales either. There are places like VOSSe wheels and other stuff in the area so i'll look and see what's up. google time....

I'm waiting to hear a yes or no from REAL St. Performance and see if they could use my services.

Jeef: i see grainger EVERYWHERE. What's up with them, what exactly do they do?

why are you moving?
Because mrs taco is a veterinarian in Orlando now. We rented a house and have everything setup already.

ohh for B16 who said sell cars. I've been asked to come work for a Subaru dealer in the orlando area. My friend/builder is a tech and he's put in a good word for me. It's my resort if i don't find anything but I want to at least introduce myself

holy shit......... I got a response. The strangest yet most awesome interview setup ever. for me at least

Hey Abel,

Geo tells me you are going to be in town on Thursday. Would you be available to stop by for an interview?

I would like to get an idea of your level of understanding of the parts we carry

Between now and thursday I am going to ask you to do a few things for me, and bring them with you when you come in,

I would like for you to pretend you just bought a bone stock Acura RSX and you want to make 500hp on 93oct. Please make me a list of parts you will have to purchase to accomplish that goal.

Then do the same thing for a Supra to make 1000whp on E85

Then do the same thing for an S2000 to make 800whp on C16

and lastly an Evo9 to make 800whp on e85

I suggest using our website. I would like for you to make this list of parts with prices, and then when you are done, sum them up and get a total cost. Take your time and think through it. These cars are starting bone stock so walk through the build in your head, determine what you will need.

Thanks
Clay

Evo 9 for 800whp E85 will take a huge fuel delivery, probably a double pump setup. You'll need 2,000 cc injectors or a set of like 1600's and another set of 1000's. You'll need cams and some big fucking turbo. Hell, you might even go with higher compression pistons. E85 can take a ton of pressure.

That sounds like a fun way to do an interview, I dig it.

the list on the Acura build is getting longer. jeebus..I'll share with you guys what i've have and help me.

agreed. Sleeved block and P&P the whole shabang.

ID2000 for sure with an entire fuel system overhaul. My Sti runs ID2000's and twin 320's intank and even then I don't think it'll have enough for 800. We'll find out since my Sti and 6466 will be shooting for 700. we'll see when tuning starts. :)

That will be a little more fun to do.

I'm still stuck in the honda. Given it's a 10yr old car it would be suggested to do a complete teardown instead of just slapping a turbo kit on it.
