So I bought this car for one heck of a steal.. Already body kitted and has one of them eBay turbo kits.. No big deal to me as I plan on h22 swap down the road after this motor blows up.. For now its a work car.. I've order some vac hose and a digital controller for it since its missing the manual controller.. And may look into a new wastegate and bov .. But car seems like its struggling a bit probably due to vac and intercooler leaks.. My issue is I'm wondering if its needing more fuel.. I'm picking up a air fuel mix gauge but would like to install some 400+cc injectors as if I remember right stock is 240.. Anyone got a list of what injectors will work..

Before you go swapping injectors, what is it tuned with? can you even adjust the injector duty cycle with the software?

And.. Fix the intercooler and vac leaks. You're going to have to anyway. And double check the timing. She might just come to life.

As far as I know its bone stock.. That's another thing I've been researching is whether or not the obd0 can be chipped and I've seen some yes n some no's or some ecu from a newer year then chip and tune.. Mind you I did say its a work car so if the stock inj will work so be it but motor is strong maybe 120k rebuilt top end and using no oil.. But if I could swap a newer ecu and maybe a gas tuner??(unsure if possible) to compensate for new injectors maybe

Timing is fine.. I have noticed however it runs better with one of my vac hoses unplugged if I do plug it it seems to run kinda sluggish and causes the check engine light to come on while full throttle.. I bought this car for next to nothing so dumping a little cash into her is OK for me.. I'll get a pic up of what I have so far..

obd 0 is chippable. Turbo Edit was the thing to have 10 years ago. I'm out of the loop on what's newer for it, if anything.
does your car have an FMU?

I don't see one.

so, you must have larger inectors and a chipped ecu..
or a complete hack job running stock injectors and stock ecu lol

pop open the ecu case. it should be pretty easy to tell if its been chipped or not.

Yea it kinda is a hack job but I'll make her better.. I'll get the ecu case open later today and look.. I've been hella busy at work last 2 days but rest of my weeks easy.. FMU?

fuel management unit

basically, its a raising rate rail pressure device, 12:1 is common (1 psi of boost raises fuel rail pressure 12 psi). Common on old crappy turbo kits. over loads injectors. works ok for super low boost, but it's not tuning.

Haven't gotten the ecu out yet.. Tomorrow is my early day at work so I'll get it out then.. I have however installed all new vac hose ordered 30 ft of it lol.. Installed digital boost controller (needs wired up) vac hoses are ran tho.. Got boost gauge water temp and oil pressure gauge hooked up.. Since the boost is included in my digital controller I'm gonna replace it with an air fuel mix gauge..

Did not see any signs of aftermarket located in the ecu.. So I need to do some digging into chipping it and doing it on my own.. I'm mostly literate in computer tech so shouldn't be hard.. I'll buy an extra ecu just in case but my soldering skills are on point.. Now to the original post about injectors.. I have noticed since I got my tubing sealed up from intake to turbo and installed my digital controller that it still runs kinda rough during acceleration unless I'm about 1/3 throttle accelerating.. Planting my foot is when it feels like it chokes up like its getting too much or not enough.. It does smell kinda rich coming out of the exhaust but I've got an air fuel mix gauge on its way.. I've got it running on high about 10 psi and low 5.. Once I get above 80 it starts pushing 15.. And another note.. After about 15 minutes of driving it quits choking itself up.. Dunno what's causing it and have yet to check the code that gets thrown at me when it does happen.. I need to put a mirror or something down there to see what its blinking
