Bullet proof glass tints if I want some ass.

I've been eyeing an 80 series Land Cruiser for a while to toy around with for camping/snow/offroading. I finally pulled the trigger on a 97 LX 450. Has the factory eLockers and only modifications are bilstien shocks and 1" spacers on the stock springs.

I plan on eventually lifting it a few inches and putting some bigger tires on it for some fun in our HOV areas up here in the sierras. Should be fun!

Fixed the CEL it had for the EGR. In fact, I talked the seller down $500 when I bought this thing because of the CEL. He wasn't sure what the problem was, offered to fix it before selling the truck. I said, knock $500 off and I'll take care of it.

Well, it ended up being just a clogged port from the vacuum modulator to the intake manifold. Blew some compressed air through the intake port and viola, blockage gone. Cleared the CEL and it hasn't come back yet (300 miles ago).

Got her all smogged and registered now. :)

I can't say enough good things about my guard dog tires. Just something to keep in mind for when you give it a lift and throw some 35s on there.

Might go with 33's instead. Still on the fence. Most people say to re-gear if going 35 or bigger..

Was considering the BFG KO2's, never heard of the guard dogs. How are they on the road as well?
 
75% of my time on the guard dogs is on-road. I have quite a bit of off road time on them, and they're awesome in mud, snow, and slick leaves. I'd put them on par with ko2 for off-road.

33s are a good compromise, you get the added capabilities of a larger tire without the extra weight, required lift, and additional "gearing". If I could have fit 33s under my truck without a lift, I'd have gotten them.
 
Looks like the guard dogs are recycle/retread. Interesting, where did you hear about them?
 
They're remolded, basically they take a ground down tire and cast a new outer surface bead to bead. I can't remember where I found them, but my set hasn't let me down. I have about 6k miles on them, no issues aside from the typical mud tire whine at speed. They're aggressive, chunky, heavy, and loud -- unless you're used to off road tires. They're kinda like a 80/20 off/on tire.
