@Briansol Came with the car, you can see it spark as it fires which is kinda cool esp in the dark. I think it's a stock dizzy with a clear cap or something, mod by the previous owner.

Nice work! I had an integra when I was younger and I loved that thing. Drove it into the ground too.

Might buy a 98 prelude 5 speed with a bad clutch. I've always had a secret love for H series motors, and one of my friends is doing a jdm h22a swap into his automatic basemodel 'lude so he could use the pedal and linkage and stuff I'm sure. And I'd get a H series motor out of it :D

@Matts96HB And thanks, the bay has a long ways to go tbh thats the thing I'm looking forward to working on the least because I can see it being very tedious and time consuming, but I want her to be beautiful inside and out so it is what it is.

Picked up a 2001 Prelude 5 speed w/ 133k miles for 600$.

Was gonna be a project car and I guess his girlfriends grandmother that he was living with said it had to go. It does have a bad clutch and is missing some panels on the front but it runs and drives. Honestly I'm just super excited to own a clean H22a4 long block and manual tranny, the motor sounds absolutely amazing when I rev it.

So I've always loved H series motors because they feel kind of underused and standalone, and I saw this video when I was looking for inspiration for my own car and it made me want to own a H series.

What kind of power do you get out of these motors mostly stock? Boosted and N/A and how much could I expect powerwise?

And most importantly, whats it worth? From I've seen the complete swap should be worth over $1000 but idk for certain

You should be able to sell the swap for $2000. With how cheap you are getting these cars, I would part them out. The parts are worth more than the whole. Strip, part, ship. wash, rinse, repeat.

The real issue here is how much time you have. that's the real cost in this. the faster you flip, the more money you have. don't mess with fixing and repairing stuff if you have unfinished projects you want to complete.

Yeah I'm in it for the money so parts is the more viable option in most cases.

H doesn't take forged pistons without a re-sleeve so they aren't that great for mid setups, either small with stock internals, or big with a complete re-sleeve/forged set up

The other thing you gotta consider is every job i do is a learning experience. My dad says he could pay to put me through school for this stuff or let me learn like he did, fixing, flipping and working on my own stuff. I'm gonna rebuild at least one of those B20s just to learn, and I fully intend to crack open the bad tranny off my 97 that I'm fixing. Sometimes its not about time or money, this is like an investment in myself as well.

So one of the things I've always wanted to do was turn cars into a social thing for me like video games, music, and sports already are. But I didn't want to make a whole bunch of new friends and be responsible for keeping up with them and add another thing on to the list of things I'm already involved in.

My solution was to start my own car crew to get together the car people I'm already friends with.
So far it consists of
1996 Integra LS (me)
2005 RSX Type-S (best friend)
2008 Fit Sport (Ethan)
2004 TSX 6 speed (Brad)
We came up with the name West Florida Imports and Ethan drafted up a logo which would later get made into 3x6 window stickers. We had our first "meet" Saturday night starting at the shop, then at Home Depot where Brad works (nice big open lot), waited for him to get off work and then drove to Bdubs for dinner.

On the way home a GTI rolled up next to us and we took turns racing him besides the TSX which ended up blowing out the clutch on the ride home sadly. It was a slightly older GTI with boltons and a stage 2 tune and the RSX destroyed it both from a dig and from rolling starts. That k20z has me really impressed, its on a stock tune with intake and headers right now.

Just felt like sharing. Any car crew stories from you guys?

I built "district 16 herping for derps" as a car club for people that hated car clubs. Made a couple bucks off sticker sales for a bit and proved that you could make something out of nothing and make money easily with little effort.

It's cool when you can find a cool group of people to meet up with and talk about cars.

I never really got into clubs when I owned a Honda, and I probably won't with the GTR either. I joined a FB group of local GTR owners in Utah so that I can go on the occasional trip, find deals on parts, etc. but that'll probably be the extent of my involvement. I don't really have time for weekly meets, cruises, etc. these days.

Pulled the suspension out of the EK today. Looks like stock struts with lowering springs, and the adjustable control arms. Also found out thanks to my brother that the Meshs were poorly painted black so I should be able to strip it back to the aluminum and sell them.

Also the Teg is burning some oil in the high rpms, my coworker said sometimes rings especially aftermarket performance ones take a while to seat, up to 5000 miles, thoughts? I'm a little nervous about it tbh. If something ends up being critically wrong with this build I'm just gonna do the h22 swap.

Does it smoke on acceleration only?

Yeah i pulled across the parking lot with him watching and he said its only "when you're really getting on it". When we went for that drive my friend who was behind me said there were "particles" coming out
