Hey guys I'm seriously considering getting a truck, I've been driving my brother's 2005 Nissan Titan and I'm in love with the smooth coasting, the high vantage point. I made a trip to the other coast of Florida with cruise control at 110mph and it was buttery smooth the whole way with a K20z for my friend in the back. My Ford Explorer cannot do any of that lol.

BUT. I want a Ridgeline, because it seems like a really nice option for a DD and I've done work on J series motors before.

Any experience with the first gen Ridgelines?

It's an Odyssey with a bed instead of 2 rows of seats :shrug2:

Do you know what you need a truck to do? The RL won't tow too much, so if it's a future race car hauler, you'll want a real truck.

The bed storage is cool, but bed needs to be empty to get to it. The bed is small and would be hard to move sheetrock or plywood.

I would buy a Silverado. Mid 2000 Rams around here are rust buckets. I heard mid 2000 Fords v8s have a lot of problems.

My Ford (03 Explorer) has a V8 and the transmission and engine are finicky. It shot two spark plugs out of the cylinder head and I ended up drilling out the cylinder head and tapping it lol.

I'm not thinking about hauling anything big but having a bed would be really nice for car parts, maybe fit some tools (jack, small toolbox) for when me and my friends head to the track. I don't really want a full size truck, I like my brothers Titan but it just feels too large for my liking. My old man has a lifted F-250, and thats wayyyy too big. My dad's friend has an avalanche I'd driven and worked on and I like the feeling of it but the Ridgeline seems like a smaller version, kind of like between an S10 and an Avalanche which is what I think i would like a lot.

Trust me when you work day in and day out fixing cars at a factory certified shop you learn to hate FCA (Fiat Chrysler Dodge) products I will never own one. I put the word out, I have a good friend at a Honda dealership watching for a trade in, and a friend with a used car dealership that's always at auctions so hopefully we'll get a good one. Also watching the local craigslist of course.

So as an update I'm going to be buying my brothers 2008 Nissan Titan with ~98k miles. He's the master mechanic of the family. The car is fully loaded, leather, navigation, DVD, etc. So no Ridgeline. But I will be getting a truck that should also do as a car hauler.
