I thought a thread like this already existed, but I searched and didn't find it.

So I'll start.

I think @civicious should buy it, J or K swap it, then donate it to charity (me) for a tax deduction.

That's crazy cheap. It's gotta be more than just a blown engine. $2500 engine would make that a $15k car.

The transmission and drivetrain have probably seen better days too.

Top is worth 3k, sell the whole car for 5k?
Something doesn't add up.
Unmolested s2000's seem to becoming more and more rare

theres a guy here that has a black one that took a hit to the front. he just posted about parting it out. not sure how hard it is to come across drive trains for these.

It says 7500 to get both the car and the top.

If I could find the ad I'd post up the 1990 DA9 5 speed that was posted for 300 and I got for free haha.

2nd gens are poop... just lucky they are 4x100 and more easily swapped than a 1g , I need a roller like that as a donor car for 4x100 conversion

they vibrate themselves apart literally with stock power, torsion bar front suspension and straight axle rear end , single cam dseries and bseries are common swaps in them but they handle like doo doo

Its so terrible its good. Imagine that with a K swap running down people lol
you'll spend $3,000+ just making it so the chassis can handle the extra power. wayyyy too much to invest. you'll race like 3 people and be like, "cool, i spent $9k. now i'm bored".

Ahhh fine ruin my hopes and dreams. I still wish I'd picked up that 3rd gen hatch I found for 700.
