I am pretty sure the guts out of the B16 will work. 94-01 Integra trans cases can take B16 guts or B18B1 or B18C1 or B18C5 guts. So I figure it's okay.

Guys use syncrotech products with success too.
 
It's a 90-91 transmission, I incorrectly stated it was a YS1. It is in fact a "S1". But there is a B16 transmission from the same year range also called a Y1 (JDM 89-91 civic/crx SiR) and also a a S1 with VERY similar ratios from the JDM 90-91 Integra RSi/XS. I may have to call Synchrotech to ask Monday.

And it says Y1/S1 so I wonder if that means it works for either application.
 
So I called syncrotech and found out that they are not interchangeable and you cant get gears at all for the 90-91 trans. Which sucks but its whatever.

So now I have two options basically.
Fix up the GSR trans (3rd and 4th synchros) I was saving for the yellow teg and do a cable-to-hydro conversion and get a different transmission mount

Or hopefully find a B16 cable tranny and pray theres nothing wrong with it.

Kind of let down atm. Debating on selling the yellow teg as a shell, using the motor and trans on the CRX and just building the Rex. Honestly the easier way to go I just dont know how much I could get for the teg. But it would simplify things nicely.

This knee thing kind of taught me to prioritize and I'd rather build one fast car that is effectively everything I want rather than dividing my efforts.

I'm leaning towards using my built B18b1 and my GSR transmission on the CRX.

I'm going to learn from past mistakes and take my time and make this car right. While I do paint and body I'm going to save money and fix the valve seals and build the transmission up (it will have to come apart anyways to fix the synchros so that would be a good time to do install a LSD).

Then once the car is running and looks the way I want it to, we add the boost. To budget for the transmission though, what kind of LSD should I run? The goal is around 350whp maybe more
 
So the tech said my transmission still goes into all the gears and theres a chance it will still function (the car it came out of ran and supposedly was being driven when it lost a wheel and crashed) so I may use it as a placeholder until the GSR is built and just deal with it. That makes me feel a little better. I also have that clutch kit from the car that although was a cheap one still looked go be in pretty new shape so I'll just run the sub-optimal setup till the good one is ready to go in.
 
Picked it up tonight the guy was wrong its a DX. Same year and trim as my guy so thats pretty cool. Has a really nice black and yellow racing bucket seat and a black interior. Door panels and dash are much nicer than mine and black! Yay. Has front and rear strut bars and aftermarket sway bars and an exhaust system.

Quick question for the homies, there's a 3" thermal exhaust for the CRX on craigslist right now. with 350whp+ being the ultimate goal thats a "must" right?

I'm thinking because it is a more expensive unit new it could be worth snagging a used one for less than half the price even if i dont use it right away... OR I know we've had this discussion before, if I installed it now in place of (what i believe to be) 2.25" tanabe "G medallion" exhaust would it LOSE power as a naturally aspirated vehicle?

I've decided to just save up and get a nice. new turbo kit which will take time to save for. I'm strongly leaning towards SheepeyBuilt because many people have recommended them to me.

ALSO found a b16 cable trans for 250. for that price even if its junk I wouldn't be super mad I was going to use a b18a trans with major issues as a stop-gap. Its from a running, driving car so I know it at least drives and the guy claims its good in all gears.

3 inch exhaust is only good on turbo cars, and I thought you said it was a 87 ersumshit, least its a 89 all you can use/want off it really is another obdo mpfi harness tho looks pretty cashed
