I need to know everything i am going to need to swap a h22a into my 96 civic ex? I'm not in a hurry im not planning on doing this swap untill the end of January, i just want to have time to research everything? Thanks for any help you can provide! :spin:

hehe... you're in the same situation like me... I can't help you much, but you will need: 1. Hasport Mount 2. Still with the same OBD to make your wiring less complicated, for example: 92-95 get OBD1... 96-98 get OBD2... 99-00 get OBD2b.. I recommend you to get a H22 from year 96-98 just to make your swap easier.. sorry can't help you much.. here.. by the way, you can find HASPORT MOUNT KIT ON EBAY....

I have done a ob1 h22a civic swap before. My next projet is a obd2a h22a type s civic swap. if you keep in touch i'll fill you in on what i did...working on this project as of Nov. 08, 2003 B)

if interested, email me at vangtistic@comcast.net

I was thinking about doing the same (H22 into 97 coupe) but after reading this I've decided that it would be too much work, at least for the time and amount of money I have. I'm gonna be looking at a B series, possibly a GSR if I can find one in the right price. Good luck.
H22 part 1
H22 part 3

for some reason I dont have part 2..... just might be useful to ya though.

do you have the ecu and wiring harness and everything? wellll if so just get your mounts and your axels from the net and drop that bitch in there and run the wiring harnes. hook up the starter wiring and start that bitch up. If anything gets in your way...move it. If anything doesnt fit........make it fit. this can all be done in your garge with a friend that can talk to you and hand you tools.
And just so you know, your front suspension will not last long, so put prelude springs on front and back to hold up that engine and for stability. you will also need to put a nice seat and a 5 point harness in there because when you wreck from the uncontrable beast you made (or your knuckle bars break) you will be glad you did.

i want to drop a h23 motor in my 99 civic, the motor comes with the h23 harness and ecu, is there any alternative wire harness i will need to get to hook up the cabin harness to that ecu? and also will the tranny allign properly or will there be any alterations i will have to do? and one more thing to use a b series tranny do u have to get the adapter plate?

hey Jenny WELCOME to Hondaswap ! and you will need motor/trans/axles/shift linkage/swap mounts/ecu , it would be best to stick with a obd1 h22 for wiring soo its plug and play and you only have to swap ecu's and wire vtec, hey start a build thread under auto multimedia with pictures of your car !
