ok, no insurance....my brother's fiance's dad is a fam. doctor so i get to see him for free...

long story short, its cold out here tonite, i had the heater on in the house...

well i guess between the cold air outside and the hot air inside...

when i tried to open my bedroom window to get some fresh air in....

it got stuck.

so i kinda gently banged on it (we got double paned security windows....no bars...just strong ass windows) and kinda sorta put my entire hand thru the window.

bled like a stuck pig for half an hour straight....it just now stopped bleeding.

my brother's fiance's dad is out of town. and im NOT going to some ghetto ass county hospital.

anyone know if you need stiches even tho the bleeding has stopped?

or am I coo coo?
 
Depends on how deep the wound is you might be able to use butterfly stiches to hold everything together. if your worrried about needing stiches you typically have about 7hrs until it can't be sewn shut anymore, but put some kind of ointment on it like neosporin something to keep the skin moist and that will lenghten the time period of being able to use stiches.

I'd say if you can easily fold back any flap of skin you prolly need stiches.
also if you cut deep enough like I did this smmer you're gonna loose feeling in your hand, well that's if you severed any nerves.
 
you should be fine, after i broke up with my cokehead of a x g\f i puched a mirror, went through the mirror, drywall and then my fist hit the concrete. i was dripping blood all over and i put a sock on my fist, passed out woke up in the morning and peeled the sock off along with the scabs. aslong as you didnt hit any veins or anything and it isnt bleeding anymore youll be fine
 
well, i kinda sorta layed down on the bed right after i busted the window open...wrapped my pinky in tissue....

chilled for half an hour, then called my dad to tell him to get a window guy out here..

as i was talking to him, i was in the process of putting a bandage on....

and i saw a flap of skin where the cut was....just open up and i started to bleed like crazy.

put a clean tissue back on, chilled for 10 more mins.....then took it off, and the bleeding has stopped.

its been like 1/2 hour so far, and no bleeding.

i was just wondering whether or not the body needs stiches if the bleeding has stopped?



plus i got a date tonite in a few hours....fuck. guess that finger wont be exploring anywhere tonite :angry:
 
You wont need stiches even if its really deep, it will just leave a big scar. If it cut any muscle/importent stuff it could be an issue with being able to use/move it later on but Im guessing you did'nt do that much damage.

Clean it out really good and wrap so it keeps pressure on it, but not too tight!
 
the real redneck way to get it to stop bleeding is to superglue the skin together.............


it will stop the bleeding, and it does help healing...but some glues have toxins that are not addviced to use.....

Best bet is...if it's deep enough, or the bleeding cant be controlled with a small band-aid...then seek medical attention immediately...

ok, you guys can lock this thread now. thanks for ur help.

was worried for a second there that I might need to get stiches for whatever reason even tho the bleeding has stopped.

and i tried to take a pic, but the light in my room sucks and the macro wasnt working....it looked way cool

flap of skin....then behind it was purple coagulated blood....of which i think caused the bleeding to stop :D
 
hey isnt 2LitreEG studying to become a nurse? I can just imagine his ass coming down to my pad in a nurses outfit to stich my ass up :lol: :lol: :lol:

at most just get some gauze and wrap it up well, rest should be okay
make sure you didnt leave any glass in there, that'd be a bitch
