im looking to turbo my Ls this summer. im gettin 9:1 SRP pistons and crower steel billet rods for 500 from my boy and i think im gonna go with the drag turbo kit. im looking to run 15-18psi. ive read that blockguard prolly wont help me here. would posting my block hold that boost or would the best thing to do is sleeve it and how much would sleeving it cost. also what else will i need to run this setup safely. thanx for any help.

DRAG kits are terrible, if you look at the manifold the wastegate only takes from Cylinders 1 and 2, not ideal in the least bit, i would reccommend a Greddy cast iron manifold, since it has the wastegate outlet right above the turbo, and its cast iron so its not going anywhere, plus you can pick it up for 300-400

EDIT: DRAG + 18lbs o boost = KAPHUCKINGBOOM (thats my opinion)

ok so definitly sleeve my block.

are u saying i should go wit the greddy turbo kit all together or go wit the drag kit but use the greddy manifold?

how bout the turbonetics kit hows that?

i was going to post about the same topic,

whats a good choice for cams for a turbo ls, i really dont care about a rough idel, im rocking no interior, no heater, and this is my daily driver in wa st, the land of the rain

If you have to get a kit, go with Rev Hard. But for the same money (or close to it), you can build your own kit. If you want to push to boost you are asking for, a greddy kit isn't going to cut it.

the obx/ssautofucks manifold sucks, cracks, and falls apart. it looks cool, but its a piece of shit.

but moreover, you're falling into the same damn trend as the rest of the internet.

STOP BUILDING FOR PSI.

BUILD FOR A POWER GOAL.

15-18 psi means jack and shit. and Jack left town.

a dinky turbo at 15 psi won't require any building whatsoever
a huge turbo at 15 psi will require much tuning, and a strong block.

moreover, picking a "kit" is the same way.

So,
#1- how fast do you want to go/wheel horsepower goal?
#2- how much money do you have to get there?
#3- how reliable do you want it to be?

Hammered golfer- start your own thread. totally off topic.
