Im looking to do either an ls vtec or b20 vtec swap being that i have a perfectly hood head off my first gen b16...I threw a rod and got a whole in my block so jus wondering wat wouldbe better to do dont want anything too crazy just little more power then b16...Also how goes the 1st gen head mount to either of those blocks...Ill prob. need help doing the whole swap either way I go!! Im thankful of any help given:]

depends on what you are willing to spend. there is no replacement for displacement. get the b20 block if you can. there is a good step by stup writeup in the FAQ's.

I was talking to a freiend of mine and I was thinking about using a B20 block w/GSR crank, this way I could spin a little higher in the RPM's.

Overall, I say go with an LS block unless of course getting an LS block is more expensive than getting a B20 block.

So, it all comes down to how much money you have.

Money isnt really a problem Im not tryin tospend an ass load but im not cheap which one gives more power and of course reliable being that its a daily driver....O and i know someone that did a b20 and it would clear the hood in a 92-95 coupe...This is going in a crx

it's the b20 IM that has hood clearance problems. with a b16 head you will be fine. the ls will be maybe, $200 cheaper. just depends on what you find sooner.

Yes. You'll need to size out new bearings, but it will work. You're better off with the stock B20 crank though. Where did this question come from anyway?

i dont know, this is the first ive seen it.

i usually atleast glance at every thread.

I just figured there were more modifications needed as opposed to just dropping it in and resizing the bearings.

You do have to use different length rods to match the different crank.
