i just bought a 1990 crx si from a friend of mine it has the 1.6d engine in it with a CAI, mugen headers and exaust system, fuel rail, lowered 2.5 inches 16 inch rims
but i think the head gasket is blown because when i started it up today it it shot oil out of the tail pipe mixed with what i believe is coolant. i just wanted some tech help on this and how to change a head gasket or if its a bigger problem also its leaking coolant from the side where the altenator belt/ altenator is thanks

Rather. Is is leaking from where the head meets the block, from under the plastic timing cover, or does it look like it's coming from somewhere else? It's important to know where this leak is coming from so you're going to have to do some detective work.

i started it up again and looked and it looked like somewheres around were the big pulley for the crack is

My advice to you is to take it to a shop....judging from this statement I don't think you're quite qualified to pull a head, replace the headgasket, get the timing belt on right, and so on and so forth.

Find a reputable shop to your area and have them take a look at it.

uhhh just because i said it the way i did dosent mean i cant replace a head gasket ive been working on machinery most of my life its not that hard so uh why hate and for some reason its cheaper to do it urself. and shops up here screw u so dont post if ur gonna hate

I'm going to have to agree with Civicous.

And that's your water pump being shot. Do not start that car again until it's fixed.

thats what i thought it was but dident wanna go spend money on a water pump if it wasent it so thank u and i can do it myself

I'm not hating, I'm giving you what I believe to be the best advice in your situation. We're trying to help you out here, and trying to prevent you from doing anything to hurt your car, or more importantly, yourself. It takes time and bit-by-bit learning to be a good mechanic, and you have to start somewhere, but it's best to start small, with projects you can handle. Because of your general lack of knowledge on the subject, and the way you described your problem 'somewhere around the big pulley where the crank is', I'd guess that you don't have a whole lot of experience working on Hondas...

Don't take on anything you can't handle...like I said, we'd rather see your car get fixed and running properly than you try to do it yourself and cause even more damage to your vehicle.

Nothing personal, just the honest truth.
