Alright, in about 7 months I went from 152->135lbs. I;m like 5'5-5'6(I dont know for sure, I thought I was 5'4 but im about as tall as this guy that claims he's 5'8);

I eat about 5 times a day(after work meal, breakfast, brunch, lunch, late-noon meal and dinner), fast food about once everyday(diet at home is mainly various veggies, rice, a nice helping of beef or chicken, can foods, etc.). I am eating pizza at least every week also(one large pepperoni/jalapeno pizza by myself)..It's not working...

Can anyone give me tips on gaining weight?
 
depends how old you are.. if you are under 23 then i would not try to gain wait..

over 23 then just eat over 50g of protien per day and exercise (spread out over the day no all at once as your body will only absorb about 23gs and the rest is "discarded"
 
im there with ya bro...5'9 and 143 as of 10 seconds ago.

i just gave up on it and decided i like it. id switch to a high protien diet and just do a lot of exercising. should raise your body mass.
 
My old weight gaining diet went something like...

9:50am 5 egg whites, 1 yoke scrambled with some milk, cheese, salt, pepper ,red pepper, 2 pieces of mutigrain toast, about 12oz of milk, and a either a yogurt, fruit, or oatmeal.

11-12 I try to munch on groundbeef in the kitchen if I can't eat that I grab a chicken breast

2-3 if its busy I eat 2-3 chicken breast as I can if not I make a 1/2lb burger with american cheese and the veggy fixins Mmm onions

5pm if Im planing on going to the gym that night I will eat light 2 to 4 pieces of lunchmeat with a glass of milk as with nuts
6 or 7 sometimes 8pm at the gym

when I get back I eat dinner forsay tonight was

2 chicken legs, big bowl of wildrice, some veggies, 4 slices of roastbeef "18 grams of protein" big glass of milk "if I worked out then muscle milk with 1% milk its 40+grams of protein" then a banana

10ish more roastbeef or chicken tonight I made turkey wrapes using wheat flour corn tortillas "sp" made two of them with greens total is 28 grams of protein and also a glass of milk

then before bed 12ish I eat about 1/2 cup if not more of 4% cottage cheese with fruits

For what it's worth I went from 140ish up to about 170. my peak was 176. right now Im pusing 158 but I've gone on a cutting diet trying to tone up a bit. If I have time to make it back into the gym I woud like to aim for my target again. 180-190lbs.

And FYI it's a pain for me to gain weight. its all about eating eating eating eating.

also looking over my builking diet I would add a bunch more carbs. try eating tons of potatoes whenever you can.

am i the only one whose target is lower than actually wieght.. I'm 215 and I am targeting 195.. It is soo much easier to put mass on than to remove it..

Keep that in mind

I did get down to 205 at one point but that was on a 1200 calorie diet and exerise.. but that made me into a jerk all the time cause it wasn't healthy


oh and soda puts the weight on for me.. not good weight but still 10lbs from just drinking 1 liter of soda a day...

it's total bull shit.

Make sure your cal, fat, carb, intake is low enough, and run your fucking ass off. if you don't lose weight you have a health issue or you're just lying to yourself about sticking to a diet and working out, working out not being, lifting weights, but running your ass off.

Try having to eat a diet like what I posted and work out 5 days a week making a point to not run or do anything carido wise. It's great when after a month you only see a 2-3 lb gain.

"edit" dont mean to come off as if Im yelling at you, I just hear it a lot from over weight people. They "work out" ok what do you do? um well I walk all the time or I go running. ok how far do you run? I run for a mile or so every day.....

shit I just took my pedal bike out today for a short ride, I hit about 4.5 miles. did it in less then a half hour and did it at a laid back pace.

are you working out right now or you just want to gain fat?

when eating alot of times each day your body does not store as much fat as if your eating 3 normal bigger meals each day. i would say high protein diet around 200grams a day and atleast 4k calories. btw a double cheese buger from md is around 25 grams or protein it self.
 
go to your local vitamin store &get WHEY PROTEIN shake mix. that helps.

I work part-time at a place that's labor intensive(5hrs a day at UPS; preloader), then I work out at home for an hour(lifting weights). I tend to sweat like crazy at UPS because the building is usually the same temp or hotter than outside.

I've tried protein bars, but those didnt really help(and taste like shit; I actually lost weight eating those...wth), but I will try the shakes next. When I go eat fast food, it's usually a whole combo and a desert. I also tried eating 1lb of beef everyday; weight didnt really change.

I eat shit food, but barely shit(alot of gas though lol). The majority of the foods I eat during dinner are asian dishes that are mostly vegetables with some meat in it(mainly eggplant, sour bamboo, some other stuff that I dont know the american name for, and rice). Will eating more eggs help???
 
i've gained 34 lbs in the past year alone by not getting much exercise and eating frozed food at pretty much every meal :)


oh yeah.. i've also gone through about 200 or so monster energy drinks.

You're not eating enough. 1lb of beef a day was nothing when I was builking. I'd eat a half lb buger then 2 hours later eat 2 chicken breast. then two hours later....

Pack foods for when you're working. easy things to eat are chicken breast, and roast beef. both can be ate cold and just straight up.

just read over my old bulking diet to get an idea of how much more you could be taking in.

on another note, what's your background?

Yup race. some people have harder times putting mass on then others.

just look at all the body builders in china.
 
i play ice hockey and baseball, weigh about 180, and eat 3 times a day...but i do drink protein shakes and take creitin (sp) once a day before a work out.
 
i sit hoome and do almost nothing till about 9 at night and then go to the gym. im right around 180 too.
