This thing is just bad luck.

the 2nd time I parked in a normal parking spot at my apartment complex someone hit me yet again. I'm 2 for 2 Normally I park in front of my garage, however today I took the Z out so I moved my TL to a normal spot so I could get the Z out.

and sure enough...

Thankfully the guy that hit me lives in the same building and had no idea he hit me. he just slightly my car enough to turn my paint into a powder. He did it last night and had no idea. I don't doubt that he didnt know since if he did he would have moved to another sport and cleaned his car off.

Had a police officer write up both of our info and told us to do what we wanted so we were both adults. I was cool with the guy, I wasnt pissed and even while typing this Im not pissed, (unlike the door dings when people leave with no care in the world) I told the guy I would get a quote and call him with the total.

in the end it will be back to normal so I can't bitch about it.

this marks 3 times I've had some kind of body damage done to this TL in les then 2700 miles.

I should have bought the smaller TSX maybe people wouldnt hit it as often.

that seems to happen with some people and new cars. My mother got her Tribute and within the first 5000 miles she had been hit 3 times and the windshield cracked once

Talk about anal. I just found a 2" dent in my fender right above my wheel well on my drivers side. Not to mention the 12 door dings I got from my old job.

A car is a car, not an investment. Who cares if there is a scratch on it?

The same people who care about the car they drive, and how it looks.

...us.

Just like when I got my valve stem covers stolen the other week but some local punk kids, it pissed me off. They're like ~$15 and came with the wheels, but regardless it was mine and they fucked with it. Or the door dings I get on the WRX or rock chips or driving behind an inconsiderate 18wheeler or dumptruck/work truck that has rocks and debris flying out of the rear of the car.

Over the winter I damn near killed a Pennsylvania State workers crew when they were graveling and oiling the highway and had no signs, until I was stuck behind a huge truck that was laying good side gravel and stones down on the road, and the fucking idiots that were beside me had me locked in the lane as we cruised up at mountain at 25mph. I had just gotten the car and was livid - I thought my front end was going to be destroyed so I took the mile marker down where it happened, when it happened, and sent a text to myself and called my girlfriend and parents to have a record of the event. It was only minor scratches on my new carbon fiber hood so nothing came of it, but had it done any damage that was even slightly noticeable, I would have had their asses.

I care about what my car looks like, but that scratch is easily buffed out without getting the cops and insurance companies involved. When he gets a giant dent that you can notice a mile away, then it's time to get them involved.

You saw big trucks working on the highway and you didn't think they'd be doing any work that could cause potential damage to your car? I would have done the same thing about that as you did. That's much worse off than a scratch, and you could have gotten quite a bit out of it since there weren't any road construction signs as you eluded to.

Oh comon now... a truck driver is inconsiderate because he doesn't swerve all over the place avoiding every single rock? I don't chill behind trucks, I pass them.

Buffed out?? I believe that black is the rubber of his bumper.. as in, paint = GONE.

My wife's Integra is a ding magnet. It was pristine when we got it except for one scratch. Now its all beat up and ugly, the paint is falling off.. Its a fucking tragedy.

i took a rock to the STi a couple weeks ago WHILE passing a dump truck. flew out of its tire or something (it looks like it just left a construction site)

ohh well... windshield #3 for the sti next spring... if i still own it.

I just want to know how the hell you noticed that Jeffie? I almost never walk around to my passenger side.

I dunno, sell the TL and get a beater to park there since you're so worried about it. Cause there are a lot of people who could care less what their car looks like and do shit like this all the time. It's never going to stop apparently in your complex.

I bet if you touch it up and put some clear coat on it, no one will ever notice it.

Body work isn't cheap. Any scratch basically costs $500 now.

It was going up a mountain, no work signs, no lanes blocked off.

Interstate 80 westbound towards State College, Pa traveling out to Penn State University. There's only two lanes each direction, there's constantly road work within 10miles of another worksite that can last from a mile nuisance to 10miles of one lane (which is was 10miles of one lane @ 45mph speed limit, in multiple spots throughout a short stretch of Pa.)

Basically, I got fucked and thats all there is to say.

I'm not just talking about kicking up rocks, I'm talking about trucks should be required to have a cover overtop. Example; dump trucks that have shit flying out of the top of the truck, rocks, gravel whatever.

And sure, if I had the opportunity to pass them I would have never even been behind them.

When both lanes are blocked up and you have morons next to you boxing you in and refusing to move, you're sol. I went from one lane to another, tried to get onto the shoulder - tried to hang back a little ways but I couldn't do a 200mile commute at 15mph, tried to get up close so it went under the car. Swore like a banshee and was irrate - but that didn't change the situation or my inability to manipulate the situation. As soon as I had a break, I was gone.

Windshiled number #3 next spring? Why not now? Did you get a winter beater or something?

I'll give you that. That's why of the 12 dings on my driver side, I simply got a some matching touch up paint and painted most of them over. These dings were down to the primer. You won't notice them now unless you're staring at the tiny indents.

But the one that was down to the metal and (because it was winter) started rusting before I ever noticed it... yeah that one pisses me off.

I easily noticed it as I was driving by it in my Z. There's no way in hell to buff that out, it needs body filler and then paint.

Why dont I sell the car and get a piece of shit? becuase I dont want a piece of shit. I want a nice car and I want people to stop being fucking jackasses.

that's like saying why live in a nice home if you might get robbed... come on dude.

Yeah, let me know how that one turns out. Getting robbed and getting a scrape in a car aren't exactly two situations I'd ever associate with each other.

body filler on the bumper? what did it go through it?

My point was should someone pick a shit hole house so they will be less of a target even if they can afford a larger nicer house?

I drive the TL becuase I like the car and want it, I'm not going to get a piece of shit becuase assholes can't get their doors out of my car.

Body feeler becuase it dug into the plastic. Picture taking a flat head screw drivier and jamming it into the side of a car and pushing it a good 15"
it's DEEP. it with out a doubt will need to be filled, sanded and respayed.

why not get out of the apartment complex if you are worried about people hitting your stuff?

get a bigger place :)

I do agree with that, Im keeping my eyes open but cant see moving for another year or so. I just have to find 300-400K laying around somewhere =)~

on another note where I live I DO have a agarage with parking that is away from people. my problem is the 2 friggin times I parked away from my garage (so I could get the Z out) I first got a door pushed into the side of my car and now this.

2 for 2 baby!

yeah.

but no matter what car you drive, idiots will be idiots :)

My point is petty thieves will go for the less expensive houses in not-so-upscale areas because they have less chance of getting caught. Upscale housing additions usually have security/neighborhood associations along with home security systems. Even if something does get stolen, chances are nothing is going to be too expensive to replace. Maybe a 40 dollar lock set. Where as every goddamn thing for a car is expensive as shit.

When you do buy a house, don't ever buy a corner spot.
