i gotta dc integra rs but it has a b16 swap...people are telling me that my motor is to weak for the weight of the car but isnt the stock b18b1 slower than a b16a with 20 horsepower less...so my car is better with this swap so how could it not be strong enough..wat do you guys think

some people look at torque as well since that is what you need to pull the car from a stand still. a dc chassis is a little heavy thats why they all came with 18's. build it right though and it will move as with any engine from honda.

im not knocking your swap, just telling you that some see it different ways. i have a da chassis with the original motor in it and it spanks ls vtecs with nitrous and now runs mid to low 13's all motor with the work i've put into it and still non vtec. vtec has its up and downs. if it didnt then big companies like toda would not have come up with vtec killer camshafts. just build your motor the way you want to. if your happy with what you have then roll with it.

read the signature......every honda motor has potential!

yea u right its juss the way u build it huh... cuz people keep sayin its too heavy but its juss tha way u build it..got mah hopes up cuhz..thanks

oh ya by the way if you can get your hands on a b20 block, that would be a great match for that b16 head. need engine build info, just ask. i'll help you out anytime.

First off, Toda didn't make VTEC killer cams just for the hell of it. In circut racing, VTEC equipped cars had to add weight on their vehicle because of the advantage over non-VTEC equipped cars. A VTEC killer cam allowed the driver to retain the VTEC head, and it's 100% better flow characteristics over the non-VTEC head, without having to add weight to the car. Toda didn't create the VTEC killer because VTEC has it's ups and downs. And trust me, if you were running a B16 head on your LS setup, you'd be making lots more power. The only downfall to a VTEC head (if you'd call it one) is that it's more difficult to tune.

OP: Having a B16 in your teggy is a good thing. You just have to drive it diffrently. I'd say that your car with a B16A is a faster car than stock. Just the same as the JDM Integra XSi (that had a B16A) was faster than the LS.

sorry, next time i'll be more clear. what i meant is that they made the vtec killer camshafts to reduce rotating mass. not that it actually had bad points to it. i understand why they did it and all i was telling him was to build it the way he wants to........psshh. i to know about honda's.....

in my personal opinion from ky last integra..integra ls with a b16a2 swap...id say in the 1/4mile its pretty much a coinflip on who will win...because the ls/rs is going to get you in the 60ft guaranteed becasue it happened to me lots of times..but you slowly catch up to them and most of the time you should beat them on the track...now if youre on the street youll take them everytime....depending on where your vtec kicks is were you are going to want to launch your car...mine kicked in at 5500rpm and i launched it at 5500rpm so it would never come out of vtec...now what transmission do you have? if youve got the ls or rs transmission your really hurting yourself...

like i said once vtec kicks in he shouldnt have a chance untill you both reach about 110mph..then the rs/ls should beat you from 110+...i used to live in the dominican republic where there wernt any speed limits so we would just go all out...the ls/rs are fast from 110+ thats where the torque helps them...and there long ass transmissions...

the ls/rs transmission just have longer gears..there only good for top speed or high horsepower turbo engines...

unless you plan to race over 120mph, keep the b16 tranny...it better in parctically everyway....you think there is a reason why im buying a 4.7 final drive for my transmission? cause i dont do many top speed runs, but acceleration is what really matters.
