It's only stupid if it doesn't work

Tuesday night one of my close friends was on his way back from Lake George. On 9N he pulled over to let some assholes racing pass. When he went to get back on he lost control of the car and went across both lanes and into oncoming traffic and right into the path of a logging truck. He died on impact.

RIP Shaun Thomas O'reilly. He was only 19 and he was one of my best friends.

:(

that story doesn't really make sense though....

if he was pulled over, how does he go spinning out of control across 5 lines?

i don't understand either. how did he lose control just pulling out onto the freeway? sounds a little fishy. but i feel your loss.

I don't really understand it either, but at this point I don't really care to question it. He was a good driver too.

i too lost a close friend of mine recently, he was on rt40 on his bike (he had a liter bike, either a gsxr1000 or a zx10r) speeding apparently and a jeep pulled out in front of him and he was killed. i dont know how much gear he was or wasnt wearing, but i know he was a very experienced rider, he raced motox all his life. he was 20

RIP Daniel Timothy Sweitzer Jr. :(

Sorry to hear more people dying young. :(

2 kids in my neighborhood a couple weeks ago were driving fast on a road and drifted over the yellow line, hit a lady head on. 3 people in the car, 2 died at the scene. :( :( The kids that died were 19 and 21.

It seems like no young person will go through life without losing friends and family at a steady pace. I lost my brother when I was 7, he was 3, since then its been at least 1 person a year to pass on. Sad how life works sometimes.

Yeah I to understand I am in Iraq and I have lost a friend and another 3 hurt really bad

I miss the kid to death already. I spent the last 2 days working down at school and it sort of kept my mind off it, but I came back tonight and IDK. It still feel like a bad dream. The wake is tomm.

ooh man, sorry for your loss...

i heard some real horror stories from the tow truck driver on the 2 hour ride home last night...
vehicles claim too many

There was a guy on Welcome to NASIOC.com - North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club - News that posted of his accident the other night. He was driving his new black STi and hit a bicyclist that came across the road infront of him. He said that he thought the guy might have been drunk or what not, but that he had hit him and knocked him off the bike.

He got out of the car to call the police and another car that came speeding up ran over the cyclist and took off driving, so the guy with the STi had to sit there with a guy he didn't know and no one else around and listen to this guy die infront of him, after he knocked him off his bike.

My buddy was claimed in his 3000gt sl on the highway early one morning around 2-3a.m. He fell asleep at the wheel, came across three-four lanes of traffic and put the car on the wet grass. His buddy that was with him, was supposedly taking his jacket off so he wasn't looking forward when my friend fell asleep. My friend, Matt, woke up with the car on the grass and tried to correct and put the car back on the highway. He obviously overcorrected or had no chance on the wet grass from that early in the morning and he spun the car. Put his side of the car right into a tree and bounced his head off the window which caused some horrible internal bleeding. They thought he was going to be alright but then they put him in a medically incuded coma to allow his body to rest and heal and they found out he had zero brain activity left and no hope.. That was my first real close friend to die as an "adult" (i was 18 and he hadn't yet turned 18) and it still haunts me to this day.
