Hey i am new to the site and was wondering if it is hard to do a b18 swap on these cars. I found a Integra i think its 92 with a b18 automatic. How can i fabricate engine mounts for it? And what axles do i use?
 
Thanx man i have an idea for the motor mounts; i was thinking of removing the mounts from the integras chasis will that be a good idea.

You can try that but somehow I doubt that an 84-87 Civic's and an Integra's engine bay are the same shape, and that's the only way that you would be able to use the mounts from the Integra (if the engine bays are the same). You might be able to fab something up using the Integra's mounts or the Civic's mounts if you have decent fabricating skills, but I'd say that's probably more trouble than it's worth.

Check out the site the other guy pointed you towards, they have a mount kit that will make the swap easy and if you read their instructions it should tell you what axles can be used.
 
Well if you want low budget then I'd say you should probably try and fab something up. If you're good with cutting and welding metal then you could probably do it yourself, otherwise let a machine shop or performance shop do it for you, although that will cost you for labor.

I don't know how low budget you can really get with this unless you're able to fabricate mounts yourself.

We are going for a 1,000 budget to start, including the cost of the donor integra. My brothers friend made this swap for someone and he told him that he could unsolder the factor mounts and weld or screw them to the civic.

i believe you will run into a serious problem if you try to use the B-series automatic transmission - the B-series manual transmission sits right next to the passenger side frame rail and the automatic is quite a bit larger than the manual - you cannot move it toward the driver's side to get the transmiision to clear since you will already need to bash in the driver's side frame rail in order to clear the alternator - if the car is not the Si model, you will have a nightmare with the wiring and you will need the complete fuel system (tank, pump, lines, etc.) out of a Si model to swap into the car - only the Si used a pressurized fuel system which you need to work with the fuel injection - you will need to swap out the knuckles/hubs for ones from 86-89 Integra in order to use the larger Integra axles - there are no stock axles that will fit with a B-series engine in a 3rd gen Civic - you will need custom axles

you would be much better off to swap the 86-89 Integra D16A1 engine and transmission into the car - it will bolt right in using the stock mounts, using the stock 86-89 Integra axles , knuckles/hubs and shift linkage, since the 86-89 Integra used the same chassis platform as the 3rd gen Civic/1st gen CRX - it would still be a major job with the wiring and fuel system, but nothing like trying to install a B-series with automatic

I will give it a try but i know it will fit. I am going to go and see my friends swap. And ask him if there is posible to use an automatic.
 
Raxles sells B series axles for this car. You need 1st gen integra hubs to use them though.
 
I think i am not going to swap a b18 because the guy that is selling the dam car is asking 800 for it and the car doesn't start. And he doesn't call me. So i am looking into a 87 integra with 5 sp tranny, started to search on tuesday so i don't know whren i will get the owner of that car, gave him my number yesterday to call, but nothing yet. Still looking.
 
A b18 motor will fit in 86 crx? I didn't even know that. Then what will be better for my dad's crx a b18 or a ZC?

Hasport sells the mounts for 600 bucks, but its easier to make your own for the b18. The zc engine will swap with only changing the tranny mount.

Will there be enough space in the engine bay for a turbo if i go with the b18 swap?
 
I changed my plans we bought a 87 integra with 5 speed tranny. Gona start today to start the integra and set it up on idle and change some things.
 
Just a question for someone? I have a 1987 civic hatch and was wondering was is the biggest engine I can swap into it for the least amount of work?
