91 prelude si engine swap?

hi i just got a 91 prelude si with the four wheel steering, and its got a b21 in it that seems to be burnig more oil than gas. i want to just get another engine and put in it because this one has alot of miles. but i dont know if i want to put another b21 in if they are notorious for burning oil. can somone tell what i can put in and how? please, thanks alot!can i put in a b20 and if so what do i have to change to get it in there, or can i put a bigger engine in it?

i'd just get you another b21 man...thats goint o be tha easiest thing to do....i got a 89 si wit tha b20a5 in it and i'm wantin to do a h22 swap put thats really time consuming...anyways keep tha b21 do you can make good power off that motor you just got to look hard for performance parts but they're out there

I'm going H22 3rd gen for next summer... git the engine and turbo already....

there should be a sticky thread with 3rd gen swap info ect.... funny, seems like there are soooo many 3rd gen heads on every prelude site....
gotta love that car!!!

because the blocks are crap and the heads make it seem like its impossible to float a valve.
 

I'm sorry you are wrong.. B20 is SOLID!!! closed deck and takes abuse! I put 12lbs on a stock block with no issues. The only thing that sucks is the lack of aftermarket... -but there are people makin 300+ to the wheels on this block. great engine IMO
 
what will a turbo do to a 1990 prelude 2.0 si

well your going to spend a decent amount going turbo... If you are not mechanically inclined I would sugest H22 swap... -that will run about 3G before it is said and done.

there are people with turbo 3g running anywhere from 5lbs to 25lbs of boost... all depends on how deep your pockets are. My 3g ran high 12's with tons of work and $ into it
 
hmmm... b20 swap. i have that. first of all if you are getting the JDM B20A then there are some things you need to change. first you will need to use your B21A1 intake mani. this is because your car has an egr and the B20A does not. second is the ex mani. use your old one. third is if the B20A had an auto tranny on it then you will need to use your B21A1 flywheel. fourth, also if it was auto then you must use your old coolant pipe that runs across the back of the block. this is because on autos they made it longer. on manuals shorter because of the shift linkages. don't throw away your B21A1 ex cam. put that in your B20A, trust me!anyother Q's just pm me.
 
91 b21 to a H22

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I would need( basics) to swap a 91 b21 to a H22 in a 91 Honda Prelude Si 4WS
 
^mounts (AZ RACE), axles (AZ RACE), H22 obd1 ECU, '92 up shift linkage and shifter assembly, time & patience if you are a novice, and lots of beer.
 
how much would that cost(roughly) with out the price of the engine???
