This may sound like a very noobish and stupid question, which it prob is, but i just got into an argument with somebody bc i'm lookin into swapping a jdm B16A into my 93 CX hatch. He's telling me that JDM is a whole different game when it comes into the install and tells me to go with a USDM B16. Could somebody shed some light on this situation? As far as i thought i figured that the install wouldnt be any different between a JDM B16A and the USDM B16A2, except for OBD2-1 conversion on the USDM.

no difference. just the way the motor performs. In which jdm is better. Its same install process. Whoever you argued with is a noob.there may be some minor wiring but nothing you cant do yourself if you do you your research.

werd...the wiring is all the same, just the jdm versions usually perform better than their usdm counterparts.

Not exactly. Yes the SiR and the usdm SI engine are the same HP wise, but the SiR II has 170hp and 116 lbs/tq. the SI has 160hp and 113 lbs/tq. the Jspec is a little better, the SiR II has a slightly higher compression ratio then the other b16. It runs at a 10.4-1 and the SI is a 10.2-1.

Also the JDM doesnt have a Evap driver on the fuel rail, a vtec oil pressure switch, nor does it seem to have a CKF (crankshaft fluxuation sensor). Some wires do need to be lengthened as well. The water necks are also slight larger on the JDM version. They are the same size as the integra though.

 isnt that what i said? the JDM is better.

I just like to be a little more specific. Take for instance the SiR engine, there is one model that has a HP rate of 164, and one of 166, big whoop, just consider them the same, but from 160 to 170 is worth menchining, speacially since the JDM SiR II donesnt cost as much as the USDM b16a2

ohh ok. just a heads up. Most of us who are familiar with jdm engines know that they normally always rate them 10 hp more than the usdm. But i see what you saying. thanks for breaking it down
