I'm looking for a camera, but can't afford a digital SLR right now, and don't want to spend money on a "mid level" camera. What is the best(as in high quality/resolution pictures) for under $150?

I like my vivitar, I paid $120 on ebay (live auction, not BIN)
5mp, doesn't eat batteries either...i use rechargable battery pack though.

I really like it, it has internal memory and i use a 128mb card with it, more than i'll ever need. Video also.

The only drawback is if you leave the camera on and the USB plugged in, it will kill your batteries. If you leave it on without the USB it will shut itself off.

Good luck with whatever you get.

Anything Canon or Nikon kick ass. I have a Canon Digital Rebel, and a Nikon CoolPix 4300 (old), but they take amazing photos. At the time I got them, they were the best bang for the buck.

OK I still haven't bought one, what about going a little higher; say $200 range? Anyone heard of the Fuji S7000? Pawnshop has one...

I have the fuji s6000. Takes really good pics. night time low light pics aren't that great though, the aperature size is just too small. But I've actually gotten picky, using manual settings and all. If you are looking to use it in auto mode, you'll likely love the camera.
