20"s ON MY HONDA
Whenever I go to get the engine swap of my choice, how do you make sure you get what you want. I want to get a B18C TYPE R and I want to make sure I get the type r. Where would be the best place to get the motor from. THANKS FOR HELP.

The type r motor is the b18c5. the gsr is the b18c1. make sure the engine stamp says b18c5. as far as where to get it i couldn't tell you, those engines are a rare commodity that I wish I could find for a decent price.

^^No, they are not.

The JDM Type R is B18C R
The JDM GSR is B18C

ok, I didn't know you wanted jdm. but I'd just go with what florida said, I haven't really researched the jdm market to much yet. but as far as usdm, b18c5 is type-r

actually they are.. jdm motors dont have a number at the end of the block code

JDM: USDM:
d15b d15b7
h22a h22a4
b16a b16a2

I swear I've seen pics with B18C R stamped on the block. But after doing some more research I think I might be wrong. Apparently there is only "B18C" on both JDM Type R and GSR.

good thing you edited your last post..i had a paragraph for you to learn from :D

Why are the jdm motors vauge in that respect? You would think they would have some way of identifying engines without ripping into them.

Dont really understand that myself, but you could most likely tell what motor it is if it is left stock. You can check the oil pan and read what it says p72 for gsr and p73 for type- r. Cam gears as well, just take off the cover and there it is.
