I recently picked up a '94 civic coupe with a 1.6 vtech (D16?) motor. I'd like to eventually do a swap to a b16a Gen II (SiR II). I'm looking on hmotorsports.com at the complete JDM swap. Will the mounts that come with the swap work with my car? Is there any extra things I'll need to get?

Also, do I need to acquire the complete swap or can I get away with doing something a little cheaper?

try hmotorsonline.com. Since you called it VTECH you would probably be better off getting the complete changeover. So you dont have to try and find the necessary parts to do it.

I would go with the full swap, just make sure on the engine you get, your TPS is good.
Also, you may need a wire harness to extend wires, HASPORT has them for like $79, which is way cheaper then what you would spend on labour.

Also before you put your new engine in, make sure to check your timing belt, water pump, intake gasket, head gasket, and any other thing that would be a pain in the arse to get done with the engine in.

Better to make the investment now then have something like that blow when you are going 140kph and rip who knows what else to shreads.

FYI, there are a ton of swap articles here use the search!!!

Dont rag the kid, you probly called it Vtech too at some point, jeeze no one is born JDM master of the universe.

Anywho, I just did this swap in to a 98. A few heads up, there is no CKF (crankshaft fluxuation sensor) on the SIR II, nor is there a EVAP driver, or a Vtec pressure control switch

Most " complete swaps " are just wiring harness, ECU, and tranny, along with the engine. A front clip will give you more then enough extra parts and you can turn around and either do a RHD conv, sell the dash to someone, or do a parts trade for it like I did.

It would be very wise to get new MM. You can get away with using the once on your D except for 2. I am not sure which ones, cause I just swapped them all out on mine (cause the SIR II's where in much better condition.)

You will also need to get a Teg rad, and make it so it fits in your chassie. For some reason, the SI and Del Sol rad's water necks where too small to fit the b16a. I dun know, but a teg rad was perfect.

if you get the complete change over the only thing you need to do is wire up a knock sensor unless you are using a chipprd ecu. use all the supplied mounts with the new motor. you have to use your wire harness since the jdm harness is for the right hand drive cars. use your stock radiator. just get a lower hose for a 92 integra ls and an upper for a 99 civic si. youll have to buy aftermarket hose clamps for the radiator because the D series hoses are smaller than the B. if you weant to keep A/C you need to get a P52 A/C bracket from honda.

the JDM ECU doesnt have a CKF. and Id like to see the hose clamps that allow you to use the stock rad and not spew water all over the place.

GO TO AUTO PARTS STORE.....ASK FOR A RAD. WORM STYLE HOSE CLAMP......TAKE PIC. AND POST IT SO WE CAN ALL SEE...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the SiR II the rad opens are the same as the integra, and I am happy with my duel core rad now, Thank you very much. My engine hasnt even gotten hot enough for the fans to engage yet.
