well i have a 92 civic ex and i was wondering if it would work if i took the turbo out of a stock dodge daytona shelby and made some sort of ghetto rig into my civic?

its possible, you can ghetto rig it but it will take some fabricating and welding. just make all the basic parts to custom fit.im not sure on the daytona turbo make sure its still good before you try it (such as shaft free play) im going to atempt a homemade setup on my crx. good luck surf around there is a site that shows these setups. this is a good site for starts redpepperracing.com

It looks like the Daytona Shelby's used a T25 turbo. It's a small turbo, and you're probably better off pulling a t3 off of a ford t-bird turbo coupe, as parts to fit a t3 turbo onto any flavor of civic are plentiful and cheap.

But T25s are cheap and get the job done. If he still has a D-series in the civic it should be plenty.

Grand Nationals and 300zx TT's had a T3 as well. I think I still have a GN T3 in my attic, needs a rebuild as it has 145K of hard driving on it. If you;re interested I'll check and see if I still have it and you can have it DIRT cheap. The GN has a 3bolt inlet like a typical exhaust flange on the turbine housing, it will be nice and easy to ghettofab it to your stock manifold.
