lol. that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard.

in other news. auto makers sue california for having emissions standards that only apply to import cars and not big stupid red neck diesel trucks or semis that emit 25 times the CO2 as everything else. also, fat people sue mcdonalds for making them fat.diabetics sue candy companies for putting sugar in candy. alcoholics sue budweiser for putting alcohol in beer.
 
If I was an automaker, I would just stop selling cars in Cali, instead of risking losing more money that could've been spent on more RnD for green cars.

Kinda ironic, you made this thread about Cali... when it seems that someone in Connecticut thought it up first...

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Oakland, names Chrysler Motors Corp., General Motors, Ford Motor Co., Toyota Motor North America, Honda North America and Nissan North America.
The automakers responded to Lockyer’s lawsuit by issuing a statement saying they already are building cleaner and more fuel-efficient vehicles. The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers did not respond to the substance of Lockyer’s lawsuit, saying manufacturers would need time to review the complaint.
Lockyer is suing on the theory that greenhouse gases are a “public nuisance” under both California and federal law, an argument similar to one being pursued in a case before the 2nd U.S. District Court of Appeals in New York. Connecticut and seven other states, including California, have sued five power companies in an effort to get them to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
The Connecticut lawsuit was dismissed by a district judge who said it attempted to address political questions. In a brief filed in support of the utility companies, the automakers alliance argued that such a suit “opens the door to lawsuits targeting any activity that uses fossil fuel for energy.”

well.. it seems only the people who dont live in CA hate it.. especially the Eastern states...

i personally wouldnt want to live anywhere else.. the weather is nicer, the women are more beautiful.. and the cars here are rather nice the majority of the time..

it seems all you guys are just jealous or somethin :)
 
If the weather is nice, why change a good thing already(erhm, forcing car companies to build cleaner cars, be getting money from them...)? you guys like it, BUT ITS YOU GUYS WHO CHOOSE TO DRIVE THOSE CARS(use get_nick's examples)!!!

I say let the car companies stop selling in cali so they dont have to deal with that bs. there are plenty of alternatives, maybe Cali should just make their own car company, or electic power subways, etc. Better yet, just ban "dirty" cars from cali. more for the rest of the states.

im very suprised mitsubishi didnt make that list.

then again, mitsubishi is dying. too bad. i almost care.
 
CT started the suits against tobacco companies for selling a product. CT is right behind Cali, make no mistake.

The sooner I'm out of this shit pit the happier I am.
