I swapped a '95 B16SiR into my '99 EX. My problem is that the stock EX shifter now sits well forward of where it was (towards 1st 3rd and 5th), and when i shift forward the stick butts up against the center console. The guys who performed the swap told me the bushing on the stock shifter was shot and replacing it with an aftermarket or stock Del Sol shifter would solve both of these problems. My question; is the difference in shifter angle common with this particular swap, and which shifter would best alleviate this situation.

well.. does the shifter bend forward or backward.. its supposed to bend back, if it doesnt its probably turned around.. seen it before, thats why i say this..

Cannot really tell since the boot is in the way, however there is a TON of play in mine if you did not know the car you would think its in N

Thanks for the replys. It definitly was turned the right way. I tried to install the ss I had and just to see I turned the stock one 180 and the result was much further foward than it was already. The ss seems to have taken care of the shifter hitting the front of the housing, but it still doesnt seem right. Mabey the new shift linkage is a little longer than stock EX?

sounds like someone put as smaller bolt and nut in the end unstead of the correct pin. replace it with the right pin or a new pin and that will fit it
