Most of you should know what folding@home is. If you don't, its a program started my Stanford that simulates how certain proteins fold. Miss folded proteins can led to dieases e.g. Parkinsons (sp?). Since there are almost endless possibilities, it takes a computer forever to do it so they split up the task and people can download and run the program and send the info to Stanford to help "complete the picture."

Anyway, they are releasing a verison of it for the PS3. With the cell processor, why let it go to waste on games? If you leave your PS3 on and hooked up to an ethernet or wlan, then itll start the program. As soon as you start gaming, it turns off or runs in the back ground and the developer says no performance lag!

Well if you can't justify the 600 tag, even for a blue-ray player, maybe this bit of good will can justify 600. Kicking ass in 1080p, hi-def DVD and saving lifes! What else can you ask for?

Way to go Sony for the lame P R piece. They spend the last 6 months-a year telling us to quit whining about how expensive the PS3 is and now they have to rely on feel good press to help bloster their failing image. At this point I would love to see the PS3 flop.

I would like to see the PS3 fall and have Sony fall back to the PS2. It's a solid system and everyone knows that game titles > fancy graphics.

Now, if Sony would get on the ball and make some games with good PS2 - PSP connectivity like the GC does with the GBA, that would bolster sales of both systems.

That GC with GBA is a bunch of crap. Only 2-3 games really even used it (FF and Zelda). Why play GBA games on the GC when you can emulate them?? Even if you're not feeling like a pirate, you can buy the game and just download the ROM file. Then you won't need to spend 50 bucks on that fucking crap accessories.

and it will end up like the ps1 when the ps3 comes out. prices for the ps2 are what 150ish?

when the ps3 hits they will be down to like 100.

It's the concept.

The idea of using the PSP as a controller in an RPG or sports game (think multiplayer) is quite neat. It simply needs to be implemented properly.

The GBA Player also has its place. Sure, you could be a pirate and grab the rom or even buy the game and download the rom.

However... Save games. Save games. Save games. Apply directly to forehead.

Remember the TurboExpress? The only thing that held it back was the price. Incredible concept, horrible price tag.

Haha, thats like the Neo Geo. 200 for a fucking game??? WOW.

You mean save games as in the files or the physicial product? To profit from later?

Have you tried using the GBA as a controller for the GC?
