alright my recently built lsvtec has been losing oil for awhile. Problaby 1/2qt every 2 weeks or so.I just thought it was my ls dizzy dripping. Last night i took it for a long 30 mile drive at 4-4.5k rpms all the way there. It reaked of oil inside the car and my friend behind me said he could smell fresh oil all in his car too. I had just changed my oil that day! what could it be?

unfortunately i couldnt afford a type r oil pump at the time so put the the oil pump that was already on the previous lsvtec. It was an ls oil pump but my friend/builder said he had ''shimmed'' it so it would flow better. I already bught a type r oil pump so thats what i'm gonna change when i take the motor out again.

should i check the bearings as well? anything else i sould look out for? all the seals are new from top to bottom of the motor. weird:huh:

did you check your ring gap, and make sure you broke the rings in properly?
yeah.

Blanco trust me i'm in hurry to get the motor out just because of the oil pump.

i hear the lsvtecs are notorious for burning oil but i called BS since its BRAND NEW FULLY BUILT AND SEALED!

i think i found the problem. when i did the oil change i filled up a tad too much. Also the the hose connected to my valve cover is connected to my intake. I think i'm getting ALOT of blow by in there. I found traces of oil in the intake so i'm gonna disconnect it to see if it stops. man i hope that it

thats what i was thinking also. I'm gonna run a catch can on the new car. just for extra insurance. since i got those stage 2 cams, you cant uncover the oil cap with the car running without it spewing oil everywhere.lol.
