Doin work!!!
I am about to build a 91 hatch with a cr-vtec and was wondering what I would have to beef up to throw a 300 shot at it. I am dead serious about it, I mean damn, why the V8 guys gotta have all the fun. Anyways I need to know if it is even possible to stuff that much squeeze into a B motor.

you can do it on a bone stock block. i have. it's fun. you should be able to hit at least a 10.5 1/4 mile time. video tape it to, i'm stoked to watch you work over a stupid ass mustain...

you can do it this is what i would say is a ideal setup. hope its not a street car ypu want to do this to

sleved block

aluminum rods (this is a must with that much nitrous) they coushion the blow of a instant 300hp on the bearings.

good fuel pump not no 255 walbro either.

fuel sump in stock tank or fuel cell

i would do 2 stages of nitrous like 125hp from 3000rpm to4500 and the +175more from 4500 to where ever you decide to rev it i would say around 9000 unless you put a dry sump oil system on it then go balls out to 13-14k

i would go with pistons with a 12.5:1 CR piston and by the time ypu get done smoothing out all corners of the head and pistons you will be around 11.5-11:1 and you should be good

by the way be prepaired for lots of learning experiences $$$$$$ along the way

What pistons would you reccomend? I Know I'll probably tear some shit up along the way, but it ain't fun unless your breakin it right? I was looking into an aeromotive fuel pump are they worth a crap? And I like the comment about the mustang seeing as how we just built a 91 GT for the wifee. She would be pissed if my little hatchie put the smack on her baby!!

You may want to reconsider the b20 block. The sleeves are pretty damn thin and wont last 1 time on a outrageous shot like that. With that much nitrous your not gonna want a high compression piston, you better build a low compression motor for that much of a shot, like you would build a turbo motor.Sorry to say but i have no doubt in my mind that if you do get this built it wont last one time down the track and if you do make it without blowing it the first time your gonna need a rebuild after everytime you spray on it.If i was to build a nitrous motor it would definitley not be a b20 block.

If he sleeves the b20 block he will be fine and I have sprayed a 250 shot before not 300 but that is a big shot and if you decided to run 12:5:1 compression you better have it tuned by a great turner. Nitrous loves compression but that is a real shot and will cost almost the same to turbo your b-series and get 400whp or more. So I would think about this cause in a rex you don't need a lot of power to go tens but you do need a good driver, traction, money, and some balls LOL.

So with the money your going to spend on build this nitrous motor, why not build a boosted B-series and be alot more reliable

well, I do have the balls, and I have seriously thought about the boosted B, but I just haven't seen that many B's with a big shot of nitruos. I'd love to boost it. This is gonna be my " little toy ".

buy a progressive controller! FJO Nitrous Controller it is freakin awesome! i got it on my vette and it kicks ass.
it has dual stages and allows you to base n20 output to the engine based on exact rpm this way you dont get any spikes!
its lkike $200 and the best controller on the market!

and beef the engine up!

it was a joke fastacc is my good friend just talking shit to him he'll no what i am talking about

My visualization of 300 hp shot on stock pistons, rods and crank:

Assemble the motor lovingly.

Put the engine in the car.

Do a 10 second pass

Open the hood,

Note that the head is completely missing, like someone took off with it. The hood was never opened, and you can see the ground through the cylinders.

This seems worth it for some complex Chris Angel episode.

That's what I'm talkin about!!:D I want a bit of fun out of it before I destroy the thing! I am thinkin I'll just boost the piss out of it. At least I may be able to reuse bits of the Turbo setup after I toast the motor. After all , pops always told me " IF you ain't breakin shit, you ain't havin enough fun"

progressive controlers are junk all the do is tear things up

how so?

the point of a n20 controller is to bring the pressure of the cylinders(tq) up gradually and keep it there. thus not giving pressure spikes to the cylinders.

its a must that u run 2 nitrous solenoids.
the only thing i can think of it hurting is the solenoids because it pulses them alot causing alot of heat and use. if one dies well.. you have the other to save the engine from detonation. alot of noids fail open.

the time based n20 controllers are crap i agree!
the FJO NX controller is the only controller i would ever use/recomend as its computer operated! it is RPM based but you can use as time based as well can handle 2 stages, it has n20 lean fuel cut off, window switches, and 1st gear lock out as well as alot of other features i cant even see the need foir unless all out draggin.
