Hey all,

So... I'm playing GT4 and I am in the supercar event, and I mod my STI and off the line I own them, and mod it a little more I beat them on a straight too.

I'm looking at the specs for supercars and AWD, I also notice that this is true, they may have more hp, but off the line, the STI or Lancer technically could beat them.

Why aren't supercars built with AWD?

because they're built to compliment ego's, not the savvy performance consumer

this is why supercars are gay IMO (although I make an exception for the koenigsegg)

did you ever read thread that says RWD>AWD>FWD? this could help you understand why they're RWD

and modding a simple car to take down spuercars is nothing new, not even in real life... look for the cheesefrog video where this dood has a 92 hatch and races a viper

if you want AWD and supercar buy an R35, while your up, buy me one too

lol your joking right?

You can mod a car to beat most anything 0-60 if you put enough money into it, but top end is a different story....

Ever hear of a thing called "video game?"

Ford GT40 does 0-60 in 3.6
Carrera GT does 0-60 in 3.9
Benz SLR does 0-60 in 3.5
Koenigsegg CCX does 0-60 in 3.5
STI does 0-60 in 5.1

Keep in mind some super cars are in fact AWD, also keep in mind that STIs will almost always fall out after 100 MPH to any super car no matter how much you mod it.

a 600WHP STI should get its ass owned after 120MPH by ANY stock super car.

Just buy a bike, or one of the few kit cars that use motorcycle motors in them and run on 3 wheels, they're friggin fast for rather cheap.

People I know who have drivin super cars have onted that the cars handle super crisp at ANY speed, on top of that it does it with out breaking a sweat, any really modded car is not reliable no matter how well you build it. If you're making the kind of power to keep up with super cars then chanes are you're breaking shit every other week.

you also gotta think about the natural understeer of AWD. on a RWD you have a lot more suspension tuning options and your car can handle better. AWD has its moments, but through a corner, i think that a RWD is far superior to an AWD can (not saying that STIs and Evos arent fun, more saying that a V8 Vantage or a DB9 is more fun).

V12, RWD / Part time AWD with Low range, auto-suspension lift, 4 passenger 160mph top speed.

Aixam Mega-Track. Research it.

whats so Super about that car?

my m3 sits 5, has half the motor, half the drive train, and i've taken it well above 160 already

V12, Rear Engine, 4WD (not AWD), 4 passenger supercar.

"What's so super about it"

Dingbat .

rear engine = super car?
volkswagon beatle?

4wd = supercar?
Chevy astro van?

auto suspension?
lincoln mark VII ?

V12?
Dump Trucks?

160 top speed?
Honda accord v6?

I'm failing to see the corelation here...

You're a dingbat too.

160 mph in part-time 4WD.

I think a Supercar is defined as:

Not massproduced. Road&Track called the NSX, Viper and Corvettes "supercars" at one point or another, so take that as you will.

Prohibitively expensive. I have "ok" credit. I can finance an NSX, Ferrari, Maserati. I can't finance, no way no how, a Saleen S7.

Combination 0-60 times and top speed: The F40 has a 0-60 time of 4 seconds. That's great, but thats not a lot lately. Cars today are tickling black-out Gs . Top speed is usually over 200 mph, but a Lamborghini Countach is a supercar, and tops out below that. Likewise, the GMC Typhoon will top out above 200 and gets really low 0-60 times. Take that as you please.

If a tuner takes a car and completely changes it, it's a supercar. Konigsegg is an example. Gemballa has a few, and even Zender (The guys that make cheezy wings) have a few supercars under their belts. (Zender Fact 4 is belt driven)

Aerospace projects are supercars. Jerry Weigerts Vectors are supercars, because of the design principle that goes into them.

Wierd or one-off sports cars. Ford RS200 is a supercar. So is the Aixam (While we're talking about them) Glace and Desert, the Desert Stefan Peterhansel drove to victory in the Paris Dakar. These aren't really fast nor are they prohibitive, but they are produced only for the privileged few that knew who to go to for their orders.

The most seats I've seen in a supercar is 3, thinking of the McLaren piece of shit.

lol, well, my accord is a 96 EX 4 cyl auto, and the speedometer says 140, it's done 131 ( I ran out of road) and it's not even a 5 speed. The newest accords read 160, so I am guessing they will do it too. Shoot, there is a video of the Acura TSX 4 cylinder (sold as the accord in japan) on youtube and it hits 140 over and over, and it gets there quick, too. Totally stock. Totally. So, I think it is possible that an 06 V6 6-speed Accord would do what the speedometer says.

thats my favorite way of measuring the top speed of a car, "well the speedo goes all the way up to 160, so..." I'm gonna put a speedo that reads to 300 mph on my car and own the streets!
