hey i just bought a 93 cord ex five speed with the f22a6 in it. my original plans were to put the dsm manifold and turbo on it run 8 psi and call it good. well i was givin an h23 motor with bad crank so i considered putting a vtec head on it and throwing that in till i could afford boost. now im reading articals everywhere of ppl using the h22/h23 heads on their f22's. any recomendations would be appreciated. right now im thinking of the h23 head on an f22a6 or a1 bottom end with new rods and pistons. some head work since it will need it for the swap anyways and a decent snail to feed all of this. if any of my info is incorrect let me know. i have been into nissans for the past 7 years so honda is unchartered territory for me and im lovin it. thanks again.

Eh, if I were you I'd go ahead with the new rods/pistons, but don't waste your time with the h23 head swap...bulletproof your bottom end and boost the piss out of it. And don't waste your time with any headwork, with forced induction you're going to be pissing money away with any portwork.

Pistons, rods, sleevesaver, and lots of boost.

ok not to doubt you, but does anyone have any other suggestions? i want to think through all of my options thoroghly. and thanks civicious. im kinda goin for the unique factor we all love so much with this car

unique factor?

honda?

want to be unique? put a SBC head on your F22.

That's unique.

I don't know if that h23 head will bolt up with a reasonably small amount of effort, but if it would, you would be getting twin cams which is definitely an instant improvement over the stock SOHC. A VTEC head would definitely be too much trouble, but the h23 would let it breath mush harder. Boosting it, however, as was mentioned above, will overcome pretty much anything lol. Definitely a smart move to build it before you boost it though.

You, sir, are a complete fucking moron.
