91 lude si with b20a5

Ok i have just gotten ahold of a 91 lude si and it needs a new engine because piston rods are bent and something with the valves is messed up... not sure what tho... so is it better to try and get a rebuild kit or find another engine for it... i haven't had much luck finding another b20a5 so i was wondering what else would fit in there easily... i'm not really lookin for HUGE power or anything i just need a good reliable car to drive... if there are other engines that would fit with the same motor mounts that'd be great and if you could tell me where to locate this engine that would also be fantastic... well thanks so much....

check your PM box. hey you have a '91 Si? and it has a B20A5? hmmm...sounds like someone did a swap b4 cause you're supposed to have a B21A1.

right now you'd be hard pressed to find a b20a. but if it helps any i got mine from nipponmotors. you can look them up on the web.

Yes, it would be very hard to locate a JDM b20a, as they are becoming rarer and rarer. My friend tried for 3 months, and still no engine importer could locate one.
My suggestion:
Rebuild the b20a5.
Get new valve train, springs etc. and with the block, send it out and get it overbored to fit b21a1 PK3 pistons. You will love the bump in power, compression and displacement.

That, or get in on the h22 mount group buy at preludepower. Im in. You know it's gonna be all gravy next summer.
