i have a 1990 honda crx, and ive been wondering what engine i have in it, its stock, and it has well over 200k miles on it, so im looking to see if i can rebuild this one, and trying to see if it would be worth it instead of just buying a new engine, all i know is its a dx, and the info stated above, and that the engine is definately a d-series. any help will be appreciated, thanks.

The only engine that will go in without mods is another D15B2. For all the other engine choices (that would be an upgrade) you'll have to convert to multi-point fuel injection. Your D15B2 only has 2 injectors. It's a minor rewiring process, so don't be scared off by it.

thats not 100% true cuz they have two d15's for that car ones the b1 and the other like u said is the b2 if ur car has the b1 its like 70hp and the b2 is 90 so look for the b2 and yeah u will have to do the mpfi conversion which I recamend cuz then u have more options plus they have some great how-to's for it or u could just find a 88-91 civic si vehicle harness

you can swap in any d series from 88-00

the intake will bolt up and alow you to keep it dual point

but would be worth it to swap to multi piont

100% true and alot of people think that they are gonna gain hp by putting in a newer d series engine and still use thier dpfi intake manifold and u most likely will maybe gain a few hp if that unless u swap in a d16 then you might gain more but I am not 100% possitive that the 1.5 monifold will bolt on but it should and its not worth ur time really unless u swap in MPFI but I would not just put in another d15 engine unless its jdm personally I would look for a 92-95 civic ex (D16Z6) engine it has v-tec and is about 125hp.Plus its actually pretty peppy nor a SOHC engine. If anyone wants a how-to on that and or the MPFI how-to I have one thats damn good But if u dont know how to atleast install a car stereo, amp etc etc I would not try this at all by yourself get a friend who knows how or pay someone to get it done.Pay to get it done because it takes less time and I am pretty sure you can get someone who would do it for cheap.Good luck with any decision you make.....
