Im ordering the complete swap from hmotorsonline tomorrow morning including the necessary mounts, OBDII -> OBDI conversion harness, water pump, oil pump, timing belt, radiator hoses, etc. My only concern is with the ECU. If they are supplying me the conversion harness, is everything PnP??

not exactly sure how to rephrase it?

buying a b16A (SiR-II)
want to put it into a 96 hatch
no emissions to worry about in florida
its being shipped with P30 ECU and OBD-II -> OBD-I conversion harness

When it comes to the conversion harness is everything plug and play? I hear horror stories about the wiring here and on honda-tech. But is all that irrelevant when I get the conversion harness?

yes im new to this, my original motor blew up, dont feel like fixing it and want a better performing motor/tranny. Point and laugh at the newb if you'd like. But I just need a clear answer to this seeing as how Im purchasing the swap tomorrow morning.

yes its plug and play just got to run a few wires for vtec

hey bro it seems like alota work to me... if your new to wrenchin on honda's that wire harness stuff is no joke make you get one of haynes books for b-series motors. good luck man

new question

i the company you are ordering your swap from is giving you the complete swap. then why would you have to get a wiring harness. i thought the only thing different from obd1 to obd2 was the ecu and engine.

Because Japanese cars engine harness are backwards, hence other than plugs useless.

Talk tot hem and see if they can score you a 96+ SiR swap, then it would be a lot more plug and play.

yeah, thats what i ended up getting. steve at hmotors explained it all and they had two 96+ SiR swaps. costed me a bit more money but will save a lot of hassle. the obd1 swap was 2600 to my door whereas the obd2 swap was 2975. should have it by next weekend.

Awesome, glad to hear it :)

yep, im pretty stoked. My buddy whose doing the install has an rsx type-s, intake, exhaust, ecu mod and wants to see what a gutted ek with a stock b16 will do ;)
