SO heres wat i can get 4 cheap.. a del sol 92-93 vtec... or i believe a dx 92?? and then i wish i had the doe 4 the prelude.. haha

so i believe the del sol is wat i am getting origanaly it was 450.. since my mom knows this guy hes given any1 for me @ 325 so ima get the 93 del so sohc vtec sounds good..

well so far i know i need nothen just 2 get out the motor put the exhaust and injection body on there and wire the simple stuff i guess i am good 2 go.. but i heard i believe i need 2 drop a new 5 speed tranny and a 4 wire o2 sensor and then a v tec controller.. is that all i need 2 make it run without the 5speed tranny i have a 4 speed std. wak..

and how do u explain wat an obd is please thanxs.. just let me no wat i need asap 2 drop the swap and run 4 a while, while i get more money thanxs

ohh and ima need 2 register so is there any smog info i need 2 worry about 2...

ohh well i have a 4 speed 91 hatch std.. 4 got im not on m y other forum which shows it on the side...maybe thats why no replys??

You really need help. More than I can give in a post.
Give me a call at rywire in the afternoon, i can edumacate you a lil ~ Peter
#'s on the website.

heres what you are goin to need. i just finished doin the exact same swap. the motor is the d16z6. a very good motor!! your car is obd0. its best to switch to obd1. if your motor is complete with distributor and injectors then that makes it a little easier.

5 speed cable tranny- you can get them cheap and they are everywere
obd0 to obd1 ecu harness from rywire. makes everything a hell of a lot easier!!!!
4 wire o2 sensor.
p28 ecu

you are also goin to need to modify YOUR engine harness for the new motor. no you dont need a vtec controller with a p28 ecu. you need to look up info on mpfi conversions cause there are a couple things you need to before you can drop the motor in. i hope this helps you out some.

ok well thanxs 4 the info but now i gotta little plan change here it is and my story since i have another forum i am on thanxs 4 the help though. might have same stuff said copy pasted it..

ok no i am not getten that del sol engine found a better deal on h motors online .com and they live near me which is good.. so heres wat i can get i am most likely gonna get a zc.. in the same year of mine and dont need 2 worry bout smog issue on newer engine.. but i want the vtec d16b.. so peeps need 2 help me in this decision..

ok i really want the d16 the dohc engine is just 100$ 2 much 4 me rite now.. and the zcs more easyer 2 install 4 me since i am a 91 soo i hear di can only use and si tranny 4 the d16.. and i ned2 find 1.. but the zc is my year and ya tranny should fit me soo please help on info thanxs

you dont have to use the si tranny but it has better gears for vtec but thats totally up to you and your budget. but is your car a dual point? if so then you need to convert it to mpfi. its just a matter of makin a few changes on your engine harness and at the ecu pinout. i did it myself and its not that hard.

well should i just get the zc but sucs cuz its not v tec but it will save me the hassle of the smog rite cuz i live in cali and i heard its harder 2 pass with a newer engione i think??

Don't get the DOHC ZC, YOU CAN NOT pass smog with it. (the sohc zc is the same as a stock si engine, easy to pass)
It's possible to register a ZC as a d16a1 engine, but only in 88-89 vehicles. 90-91 can't because smog law stipulates that the engine be the same year or newer d16a1's only existed up to 89.

You should get the d15b-VTEC and like i mentioned on the phone - ask for the ZC Cable transmission or even better (imo) the Si Cable transmission if they've got it.
To pass california smog with the D15b-VTEC you need a P28 ECU and a 4-wire O2 sensor. Do not get the P08 ECU that comes with it.

As far as smog "being hard" goes - it's just something you have to do, suck it up and be professional about it. With the parts i mentioned you shouldn't have a problem passing and even if they do fail you for something - they tell you what it is, you fix it and bring the car back another day and pass. Not a big deal. Only thing we can think of that would fail you is the purge control solenoid but that's an easy easy fix if they care. Unlike a DOHC ZC when they tell you "install a ndifferent engine". LOL

Seriously, this is what i was sayin on the phone, you really need to listen to, print and save this.

well im listen all rite lol but jdm has a zc 4 750 and everything then the h morots has that vtec d16b 4like the same price but less horse and i heard dohc is better and u can do a lot but i dont know the smogging soo ima go with the d16 and try and c if h motors sells the p28 and get a cable tranny and be set.. but that guy from the place said the zc wont work with the motor and my car but i heard it will .. so either its an si tranny cable or sc which ill try hard 2 find the si.. nw all i need is the doe.. and do u know where i can give my engine ecu and tranny up 4 sum money??

Sell it on Craigslist.org, but you won't get much, if anything, it's junk.
You can use the ZC transmission, the engine mounts are the same but the Axles need to be ZC axles with a ZC intermediate shaft.
("but the guy from the place said") Hmotors? - Sorry if Steve or one of his people at H-motors told you misinformation. What *I* say is correct.
The d15b-VTEC is better than the DOHC ZC. =) I know, owned both.

Call this place, ask if they have a 90-91 Si tranny. (323)972-2431
I don't know who they are, just saw their ad on CL, local to you.

ya i bought the car from craigslist 4 1000$ not smogged but i needed a car badly.. cuz i need a car 2 go the distance.. i can get a 90 dx i think it was 4 1500 .. but then i wont be able 2 do the swap...

Im so lost...Im guessing you want to put a ZC in a EF hatch. You are not going to be able to smog a ZC in california legally.

no ihave a 4 speed hatchbk std... :) and ima put the d15b vtec in it.. just not sure bought trannys but every1 says 2 get a si.. cant find so wats the alternative?

A DX will be the only other 5spd tranny

You can use ANY 88-91 transmission in your car. They are all Cable.
The SI transmissions have the best gearing. I would get one of these. TheZCR.com Forums - Powered by vBulletin often has SI trans' for sale.
You can use hydro tranny's, but will need the hydro-to-cable conversion piece from www.hasport.com for I wanna say $180. it's a simple bolt-on piece and you use your clutch cable.
