Well, since this is your first post, wecome to hondaswap.com. Secondly, you don't necessarily have to use 76 point font to get poeple's attention around here, but if you feel otherwise, then by all means use it lol. As for your car, you certainly have a good start. The bad news for that generation of Accord is the SOHC. This means you only have 1 cam instead of 2 in the head (That shiny thing where all of the cables dead-end). You have done all of the standard mods so far (or the previous owner has). You've done everything standard you can to help that engine breathe, but now you are faced with two realities. 1) That automatic is geared too high and far apart for real power 2) that engine is SOHC and isn't even VTEC. Even if you were to do the VTEC head swap, it's still SOHC, and that engine bay isn't big enough for the factory V6. Here is the good news: In Japan, Honda puts DOHC engines in more of their cars, and some Honda Prelude engines from Japan have as much as 220HP stock, compared to the 135 HP your car has stock. These engines are called JDM, meaning Japanese Domestic Market, or that they are sold on the Japanese Domestic Market, rather than the United States Domestic Market. Here's the even better news: These engines are virtually a direct fit, and you can easily swap them. For around $1700, you can buy an engine and transmission that will smoke the hell out of a lot of cars out there. Most people who do this swap, however, start with a manual. So I would recommend you do the same, or start reading all about cars now, particularly clutches and so forth, as you would have to convert your car to manual. I suppose you could get an auto JDM transmission, I've just not heard of anyone doing that so far. Obviously, your car has some sex appeal to teenage ricers who want something kinda quick that makes noise, so you could easily sell it and buy a bone stock accord manual to use for an engine swap. If you want to keep your current car, though, and you want it to be substantially faster, you are going to need a bigger cam or forced induction, meaning turbo or supercharger, turbocharger being the better option for that engine. The Accord is actually a pretty light car, weighing in just around 3,000 pounds, even lighter than the Prelude. Weight is not what you are fighting, it is your engine's ability to breathe in. THe header and exhaust mean it is breathing out as hard as it can. The next step, if you are keeping that engine, is to put a larger bore throttle body on the car. Maxbore.com throttle body boring service
That is the best guy I've heard of to go through, it's reasonably priced and you can be sure he'll do it right. This will have your engine breathing in a little better. The next step is to check out ECU reflashing. The ECU is the "Engine Control Unit," simply the computer that controls your engine. If you have it reprogrammed, it will give you better performance, because from the factory it is programmed to give you good gas mileage and longer engine life. If you program it to feed more fuel into the engine faster, it will give you better performance and may take a bit of a toll on the enigne, but nothing too substantial, it's a Honda :) I hope this answered your question, and by all means, ask any more you might have. Another piece of advice I have for you is to go to Auto Zone or whatever parts store you have there and but the chilton's or hayne's repair manual for your car and get familiar with it. This is the same car that I learned about engines from, and that book had a lot to do with it. It's full of diagrams and technical information that is also broken into simpler terms for those who need that as well. It's around $15 and worth every penny. Good luck with your car, and I hope to hear what you decide and how it goes!

By The Wayyyyy.........................

Is My Engine A H22ba???? Or What?? Hahahaha

Your car has an F22A1 engine.

not correct the f22a1 came in the 90-93 accords

the 97-97 lx accords had the f22b2.

simple bolt ons like intake (ebay ones work great with a k&n filter), header, and cat back exhaust. dont waste your time will pullies and crap like that because they dont help much.

Soooo... What Kind Of Engines Do I Have??? Lolz
your car has an F22B2.

if you're not ready to put in higher compression pistons and a bigger cam, then you might be able to squeeze a couple more ponies out of a larger throttle body and a new intake manifold. also, you could advance the timing a little, but you have to be careful not to get pre-ignition (also known as ping, knock, and detonation). on regular gas, you could probably advance the timing 2-3 degrees without any problems. if you start using premium, you could advance it even more than that.

there's also nitrous, supercharing, and turbocharging (also known as forced induction). these are ways to dramatically improve engine performance, while also dramatically improving the possibility of blowing up your engine. these three methods of forced induction are not recomended for amateur installation. also, with each of these, you need to be able to supply more fuel to the engine and in some cases retard the timing.

there may also be a few ponies to be gained through ecu tuning which you will need if you put in higher compression pistons or go to forced induction. i'm pretty sure no-one offers tuning for you stock ecu, although i could be wrong. however, you can use another honda ecu and tune with crome or uberdata or hondata. ecu tuning is another thing not recommended for amateurs.

basically, to make your car faster, you need to do alot of research, and save money, or take it to a performance shop and say "i want to make my car faster"

Thankz Man Ill Do Everything U Said!! And I Just Find Out I Have A F22b2 Engine Hehehe!!!

Imma Buy High Compression Pistonz And A Bigger Cam!!! \thanks A Lot Man!!! :)

to go along with your cam you are going to want to get an intake and header. youre going to be putting more air in the motor and you are gonna need a way to get it in and out.

Hey, on your thumbnail pics your engine looks alot different than mine but mines the same thing except a 94. It was imported...and has 4 discs brakes...?...and the top of the engine says "V-TECH"

is this good

^Someone has some serious race issues. 2nd post with the N-bomb in it, whats your deal dude!!!???
