I know this sounds crazy, but I have built a 96 integra circle track race car. they are making everone take out the DOHC and run a SOHC motor. I think the 2.3 liter accord motor or the 2.3 98 Acura CL motor has the most power for a SOHC. If I am wrong let me know. My question is which would the best motor choice be and what kind of trouble am I going to run into with the swap or will they even fit. Also will I need axles, what kind of transmission will work, what kind of computer and wiring harness and how about motor mounts? Are these motors beter that the JDM civic vtec motor? Thanks for your time.

what the hell racing league makes you take out a stock motor? thats retarded.

Just tring to keep everone from running DOHC Vtec cars and tring to even out the feild instead of the hondas allways winning. I understand what they are doing. The racing league would be considered circle track racing.

you don't have a dohc car though. what other cars are you racing against? it still sounds dumb to have a racing league that wont let you use a stock motor. usually is HAS to be a factory motor.

I am racing against civics cavilers eclipses integras RSX CRXs older preludes probes neons and the track is making everone go to a SOHC to try to even everyone out.

yeah most of those cars you list have a DOHC equivalent... i think your circle track racing is a waste of time.

No some of the probes preludes civics crx eqlipse come both ways and they are letting the acuras put SOHC motors in and making everone run a SOHC for better racing. Can some one just answer what I need to know??????

well the h22 would be a good one due to its shorter gears...but i dont know much about anything other than drag racing so the f23 tranny might work just fine...it has longer gears...not too long but longer than the h22

what a gay race track. you should post the rules because i call bullshit. what rsx owner would pull his k-series and swap in a piece of shit f series? nobody would. eclipses are dohc turbo, and most neons are dohc. no intelligent person would do a motor swap just to participate unless there is a HUGE money prize at the end.

final answer: just get a h-series conversion kit.

Guys, quit bashing his race league. I've seen plenty that have weird rules like that.

Get an H22 mount kit. It will mount up the F22/F23 blocks. Run the SOHC F23, then build it up a tad and demolish everyone. Just don't put too much cash into it, because they'll probably change the rules on you again next year to keep YOU from winning. :)

he has an ls motor not a k20....its an integra not an rsx. and fseries aren't crap. to the uneducated maybe but they are good motors in their own right. not all eclipses are dohc turbo:ufucktard: .

I will post the rules after this Saturday 11-11-06. Does anyone know how much that tranny adapter is? Thanks for all the help. I knew when I posted this that i would have at least one person who thought they were being funny. Thanks for all of you that help out.

who the fuck are you? i know not all eclipses are turbo. f series are crap if you compare them to the rest of honda engines and trying to put them into an integra. i dont' know anybody other than bisi who wants to have an f-series. so fuck off.

this is why i said k-series you fuck. THE ORIGINAL POSTER BROUGHT IT UP!!!

nobody in this world is so dedicated to pull a k-series out to race in some stupid circle track. and if they do, they are ruining a good car.

can you think of a better sohc motor to put in that car??? maybe you would like him to put in a d series...i bet those have so much more power...wait no they dont....and if you can get an h22 into an integra or civic im sure there will be no problem "squeezing" the f23 into his teg.

so please give me a better sohc honda motor than the f23.

ps plenty of ppl want the f23/f22 to boost...generally with a h22/h23 head

that is all.

That Nick guy has not said one thing to help me out? He must not know much!!
Powerdriver what did you mean when you said-- ps plenty of ppl want the f23/f22 to boost...generally with a h22/h23 head. can you explain that? Are you saying to put a head on the f23 bottom end?

well for your purpose there is no real reason if you are just wanting something cheap. but yes the h22/h23 head can be put on the f23/f22 bottom end. some modification to the block is required.

you would have to find an experienced aftermarket honda mechanic to do this type of swap so just stick the the stock f23 it will give you plenty of hp and tq (160hp and 140 tq i believe)
