I just wanna know where the vast majority of your knowledge comes from. What kind of Civics you owned and modded, how many different models. What did you do with your Civic? Swaps? etc.

I'm bored, so I figured this would be a good way to see where all the good informational reading comes from on the site.

Err... as for me I've just done a few things to the Si. Can't really do much without a place to work on it at.

I'm hoping to do a swap, with all of your help of course.

i've owned a 1995 b16 coupe. had nitrous for a very short time. fun car.

89 crx with a b16.

1992 hatch with ls swap.

1995 stock vx.

and i've owned 3 nissans to. haha. i went through a lot of shitty cars trying to find something i liked.

Well, my first car - and my project car was my old white 94 DX coupe. Reworked and replaced basically every wear item on the car. New struts, springs, bushings, brakes the whole shebang. Got a lot of my first driving memories with that car and I got my first taste of auto-x with it too. Eventually it got a headswap, VTEC and whole bunch of other go-fast parts. P28, Crome, etc. Gutted interior, loud and basically impractical. Sold it about a month ago and picked up Jeef's old ride.

Right now I have a 95 DX coupe, this time black. I'm planning to go a different route with this car, more power and a little less gutting of the interior. I think everyone should build each new car differently, build on what you know and learn from your mistakes.

excellent. ON a side note, EG... your avatar is fuckin awesome. lol

90 CRX si. started ricing it out. 17" rims, painted interior, no lowering, carbon altezza tails, loud tanabe exhaust. luckily i crashed it into a guardrail and knocked some sense into me. fixed the suspesion and sold it to tylanolsiffinfool on here. he fixed the body daage and sold it too i believe.

picked up a 91 CRX si. already had the b18c1 swapped in. then i started focusing on pure performance. i joined here, and later joined honda-tech. and ive been reading and learning ever since. i slowly replaced/upgraded every single part of the car all from the knoweldge gained on the internet really. it got stolen, and that prompted me to turn it into a track car. since the motor or suspension wasnt taken (only the wheels, body kit, stereo, and some other stuff) i decided to salvage what i had and fix it back up. i stripped it out and just recently dropped in a fully built engine which i built pretty much entirely myself. again all just on knowlege from the internet and my trusty helms manual :)

95 integra LS auto. bought this when my crx was stolen before it was recovered. its been my DD ever since and has remained stock. it would be fun to fix this car up and make a nice DD with a little more umph but its very reliable, doesnt give me too much problem, gets good gas mileage, and most importantly i dont have any money or time to work on it, lol. so for now, stock it stays.

I was driving downtown when i saw this little oldschool hatch that looked like a retarded duck. I had to have it. bought it for 300 dollars off a drunk eskimo. It had a bad engine, so I thought, (like a true honda head) Integra Power! It wasnt long before i found an integra that ran. Without knowing ANYTHING about hondas/acuras i bought it, and set to swapping the motor into my hatch.
After realizing i knew less than jack shit about these cars, i began to research on the net and found this site. It has been extremely helpful and you guys have taught me almost everything I know about hondas. Check this out - D16A1 D16z6 B16C DOHC PGMFI VTEC LSD. Yeah, that's right^_^

My first car was a 95 ford contour. That was a nice starter car...too bad the thing blew up after a year. After that, I found a black 99' civic si. I really wasn't into tuning when I got the car. My first mods were a set of crappy altezza tails and a cheap pep boys muffler (ah the dumb mistakes the young make). Eventually i went IHE, and did eibach springs and dampers all around. After a few years, i got really into tuning, and sold my baby for a green 93' dx hatch. After 2 weeks my friends and I swapped in a jdm b18c (gsr). Ive been driving that for a few months and love it! Some form of boost coming soon...

I own(ed) 4 Hondas in the last, i'd say, 3 years, but have worked on other people's cars and Nissans and Toyotas
These are the cars I had in order and mods(I actually had a 88 DX HB first, but deal fell through and I gave it back):
1. 88 CRX DX(blue) this is my first car and my mom bought it for me for $1000-stripped rear interior, short ram intake with "foil pan" airbox, milled head, mild port work(just clean up and port match), a6 cam with y8 cam gear, mpfi conversion, straight pipe with ebay muffler, z6 header, bm shifter w/ es bushings. the car never ran 100% because of the blown rings...i never had a chance to fix it because i wrecked it(it was just simple front end body damage, but cost $1500 to fix). anyways, scrapped that car and engine(sold the shortblock)...the head got messed up somehow from sitting outside.
2. 88 CRX DX(red). I bought this for $200 because it had front rear subframe damage. fixed all of that, put in new tie rods and swapped stuff from my old CRX. swapped in the D15B VTEC(z6 equivelent), ebay header, p28 ecu(later to be socketed and hooked up to an Ostrich), MSD rotor, cap, coil, and wires, DOHC ZC transmission, 92-95 EX differential with CRX Si countershaft, Neuspeed short shifter, engine bay converted to OBD1, and ghetto rigged ITBs made from GSXR1000(old manifold now scrapped), miata wheels. after i swapped in a new front crossmember/subframe, i noticed one side was still higher than the other, etc. i thought it was just bad alignment. went to the shop, found out the car has bent frame...scrapped it but kept the engine and various other stuff
3.1990 Accord LX, paid $340 for this car and was told it needed a new clutch. after installing clutch then new flywheel(2 weekends), i found out it was just an axle. this is my current daily driver
4.RICED 88 Civic STD HB- paid $300 for it; had a bent valve. came with ghetto two-toned primer/paint job and alot of stickers, and point less bondo'ing. later found out it has blown wheel bearing on the driver side(looks like they thought it was ball joint, since there's a new one in there). Swapped in 90-91 Civic EX knuckles and some rebuilt DA integra calipers. Swapped in the old D15B VTEC from the CRX, with all the old mods(the stock STD exhaust has the cat built on the header, so right now I have no cat), added "Crower stg. 3" cam(not sure since Crower said it's not theirs), Hayame cam gear, Miata wheels, CRX dash/GSR cluster/black interior(not fully in yet) Future mods: bushed ITR rods, PMS pistons, mild port work, new ITBs(better manifold with CBR injectors), Isky valve springs with Ti retainers, DC 4-1 header, ZXi 4.437 FD, CRX front end, Si rear brakes, GSR booster and MC, Toyo T1R tires, primer it black then after some more money, Frost White paint, Bilsten shocks with stock integra springs, lightened, etc. Should be done by end of winter(depends on how lazy I am).

Pic of the D15B with stock mani before it was removed from the CRX..check out my awesome obd1 conversion!!! lol:

OMG. the words escape me for that wiring...

everything i know, i learned from wild Bill, or books/manuals/websites.

same here,.

86crxsi with 75 shot on stock internals for almost a year. Never let me down. sold.

My first swap was in my 93 fodo' civic.
It was an auto and i made it stick and swaped an obd2 ls motor.
took it out 3 weeks later and upgraded to a jdm gsr engine.
Took that out in like 4 months and went back ls with gsr tranny.
Now its turbocharged with a b18b motor and soon that engine is coming off.

Now engine is coming off this winter and being replaced with another gsr swap, tuned with crome @ 12-15psi.

Also had a 1990 hatch with a jdm gsr swap, 96 teggy rear disk conv, and suspension. Never took it to the track. engine came off and junked the shell.:p

car number 4 was a 1992 4 door teg with body kit airbags neon lights tvs it was my pimp ride ex girlfriend came to my job and set it on fire

holy shit. talk about a psycho

92 DX hatch, swapped the LS, turboed it like 3 weeks later. Crashed it on Christmas Day 2003.

93 VX hatch, LS swap, turboed it before I even finished the swap and was building another LS. My sister stole the motor I was building, I kept going but ended up getting pissed off that I didn't have my other motor and sold the car.

94 CX hatch, did a quick LS swap and sold it.

I learned most of the shit from the internet. A few people taught me thing's here and there.

Oh yea I forgot to say where I learned the stuff; when I was about 10-11 I would go to the library and just get books on cars and read Chilton car manuals...I later learned more on the internet on tech forums.

My first car was a 1990 Honda civic 4dr sedan. It has almost 200k miles on it and i beat the hell out of it EVERY day for 8 months untill it was completely distroyed.
All of my friends learned how to drive stick on that thing too . . . a new clutch was gone in 3 months lol.

That car sucked.

Then I got a 1994 civic EX 2 dr. I did the usual, Intake, Exhaust, wheels, tires, springs . . . the car was still slow.

Then i made the mistake of paying a shop to swap in a JDM B16a (second gen) and do the wiring - mad money out the door for something that shouldnt have cost'ed that much. . . . . well, lesson learned.

Anyways i was good to that car for a while and then it was stolen from my old job in Hartford CT. It was found stripped to the bone 2 weeks later one block from the police station.

With the insurance money from the civic, I bought a 1996 Nissan 240SX with an SR swap some other mods. 2 weeks after buying the car (and driving it back from florida) I made a 13.9 second 1/4 mile pass at 105 mph.
I have also beaten many a car in various races with this thing:
1 pontiac GTO (2004), 1 G35 Coupe, 2 turbo'd VW's, a WRX, and numerous ricer honda owners who will race anything with wheels on it lol.

Lets just say I will never buy another honda after owning the S14.

I started with my 1995 Civic DX 4 door and went through 3 engine swaps, 2 full suspension setups, and rewired it front to back a few times too.

1:
B20/VTEC with B16 head
84.5mm x 89mm
12.6:1 compression on Wiseco Endyn pistons
Eagle rods
Stock head
185whp / 145lbft

2:
B18C with B16 head
85mm x 89mm
12.4:1 compression on Wiseco Endyn pistons
High pin for 1.58:1 ratio on LS crank
Eagle rods
Stock head
185whp / 150lbft

3:
B18C with B16 head
85.5mm x 89mm
12.8:1 compression on CP pistons
Probe Ultralite rods
Stock head
190whp / 160lbft

Suspension setups:

1: Eibach Pro-Kit with KYB AGX shocks
2: Tein Flex with custom spring rates, pillowball mounts
Both setups with Eibach sway bars, Z10 and then Jimfab traction bars, braces everywhere, Energy Suspension poly bushings

Played with an 89 CRX Si while the Civic was down... it had a SOHC ZC engine with the ZC LSD transmission. Loads of cheapo budget fun.

Swapped Katie's 88 Civic LX sedan with Wil's (civicious) help, refreshed the H-motors SOHC ZC, changed clutch, converted to MPFI.

That's the short short short version.
