93 Prelude... h22a swap... and turbo

my oil pressure light stays on all the time! What are some things to check so I can fix it and turn off the OP light?

Well my friends grandma had this problem so they just left it until the light burnt out :p Maybe you should try changing the oil. Also you could check the owners manual.
 
I've changed the oil.... and looked in the manual.

maybe i need a oil pressure guage and see what it looks like. could the oil pump be going out? or do I need a larger one because of the turbo?

I need a Air / Fuel guage also....
 
if your oil light stays on, its either a bad pressure switch or you just dont have any oil pressure. but im gonna guess that you have no oil pressure.

i think he means the oil light not the check engine light,,the pressure switch would trough a check light
 
thanks for the help! yea the oil light is on not the check engine. What are some things to check? I'm kinda new to troubleshooting engines... :mellow:
 
sounds good.... i put some "sea foam" treatment in my engine. It's now ideling really fast at like 2500 rpms @ a stop light :confused: I've checked all the vacuum lines and everything seems to be hooked up right?? Any ideas on why it's doing this now?
 
If it was a fuel treatment, And your injectors were gunked up, it will take the ECU a while to smooth out the idle with your freshly cleaned injectors as they are flowing better now. The oil pressure sensor is what trips the oil light it doesn't trip the CEL. Put a new oil pressure sensor on and see if that fixes the prob. If that doesn't work, you're lookin at a new oil pump.
