im looking into getting a EF hatch and wanted to go turbo for something quick, but breaking the 200 hp mark. i have a friend that is selling a gt28r turbo for $300 and was wondering if i should pick it up since they spool so fast, he also has a kit for sale kinda sorta for $750 w/ some 450 (iirc) DSM injectors, he said the kit is good for 250HP and just wanted to know another route about doing this.

i believe he said it was a skyline gt28r, i could be wrong, but im pretty sure thats what he said

sounds a little high to me but if it dont have any shaft play or anything is probly ok

well now that i think of it your only gona get a new one for about 950 at the cheapest so yea its probly worth it

what name brand is the gt28r

Garrett makes a gt28r BB which comes with the edelbrock turbo kit!
My homeboy made 260whp on that kit a stock d16y8 14-16psi!:D
The gt28 will make 200hp but hp don't mean anything if you can't put it to the wheels..

I have a turbo kit but its for a d series. All you would have to do is buy a d series manifold. Pm me if your intererested.

the GT28r turbo is definetly worth the 300 bux if there is no shaft play! U cant buy a new one for that! strong turbo and spools pretty quickly you shouldnt have any lag!

he said its off a skyline, which would make it a t28 if im not mistaken.

it kinda sucks because the disco potato (gt28rs) looks almost exactly like a smaller T3 or yes even possibly a T28. They are both internally gated as well. Check the casting numbers and at least make sure for 100% sure that you aren't going to pay $300 for a worn out T28.
