how hard is it to switch a 0bd2 car to 0bd0? or can you make an 0bd0 engine to 0bd2??

neither is legal or reccomended. problems will come without a doubt; its better to just run the correct obd level for your car. what are you looking at, a B16 SiR?

nah im just getting desperate for an engine swap and obd0 engines seem to be a lot cheaper than obd2.

Well then your best bet would be to just get the obd0 motor and convert it to obd2

Damn man! That’s a hard one!
I know of obd1 to obd2 and the other way around. Obd0 to obd1 is also no problem. Check out this site.

They specialize in Conversion Harnesses. Maybe you can contact them and see if they can help you. Maybe you might even find what you’re looking for on their website. It would be easier to put a obd1 engine in your car. You can also try to google Honda Conversion Harnesses too and see what you can find.
Good luck dude.

osnap is right. Putting an older engine in a newer car is not only illegal, but way to much of a nightmare to even attempt unless you are a car genius in every aspect. Why not just get a d16y8 and do a junkyard turbo setup and make as much, if not more, hp and tq as a b series.

if you really want to do this it is simple rywire.com has conversion harnesses so it makes it to where it is just plug n play

You can mock me all you want. I'm just telling him it's illegal. He can do the swap if he wants, but if his city has emission checks he's gonna be SOL.

It's just a warning.

for starters no i don't have an emissions check, at all, in my state. i have been running with no cat for the past 2 years. second i already knew it was illegal, i don't care i just wanted to know if it was possible, but i think im just gonna find an obd1 engine and convert it, thanks anyways guys

Legalities aside, I don't know why you'd want to buy a motor that at best is 16 yrs old just to save a couple hundred bucks. There are supposedly some inferiorities in the head design also with the older ones. Plus those old swaps you need to change the injectors, they come with cable trannies, blah blah.

IMO, it's the tranny that costs the most on the later swaps, and you'd have to get a hydro B16 tranny anyways so in the end you don't even save that much getting the old one. OBD1 is alright, easy to convert.
