Hi guys, I am a noob here but not to Hondas one bit. I just bought a DA with a a B16A, new tranny and clutch + cable. The Body needs minor work and re-paint. But overall it was a great deal. Anyways, I believe the motor has a GSR Intake manifold due to the fact that it looks like a blimp compared to the B16 manifolds I have seen before (Only pointing this out because of Code 3). The car is throwing two codes at me, Code 21 and Code 3, both seem relatively simple, but I would like a second opinion as well as some info on the vtec solienoid ground. I have done MPFI swaps and single cam swaps so I know whats up, but I haven't dealt with vtec or DOHC. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Oh and the ECU is a PR3 OBD0. P.S. Diagrams or pictures would help a lot.

If it has a GSR intake manifold, then it has a GSR head.
The VTEC solenoid does not have a ground. It gets 12v+ from the ECU when it needs to activate.
Code 22 would be VTEC Oil pressure, which has a ground. If you only have a Code 21 then you simply need to wire ECU Position A8 to the VTEC Solenoid.
After that point, research other causes of Code 21 - like VSS (no speed on dash)

Make sure there are absolutely no vacuum leaks and the Map sensor wiring goes to the sensor on top of the throttle body. If you don't have a sensor on top of the throttle body, post again. This should fix your code 3

This Intake manifold in this picture is a GSR intake manifold - is this what yours looks like?

Thanks for the clarification man! I definantly do not have a GSR intake manifold, lol. That thing looks bad though. Anyways, I know how to deal with vtec now & knock sensors on DOHC's. Pretty simple shit once you figure it out. Now I just have to figure out what to do to get my car to run mid-low 14's at the track with all motor no FI, porting, and no ECU tuning.
