Ok well i am a member of this forum as well as nonvtec.com the founder/owner of the forum has discussed the idea of a tuner run. Very similar to the cannonball run which can be seen in movies like the Mischief Series. The details are very limited at the moment, he is more or less putting out threre and wandering how many would like to join in the run. If you are interested please post in here and i will try and keep it updated at much as i can. Spread the work in this forum, people you know and other forums around. It does not just include hondas and "tuner works" it is just not like the mercedes and porches like in the cannoball run.
 
cannonball run= crazy people thinking the road is a race track. heres a suggestion go to IMV FILMS - Vehicular Lunacy at its Finest and buy the team tork and the scumballers dvd (same people that made vehicular lunatics) and see what happens to a viper and a few other cars when you drive like a fool on the street. i was in a wreck driving normally and scalped myself. send me footage when its done, i rather stay safe in my house during that knowing ricers will show up.

you can't even drive to meets with a bunch of civic "tuners" without getting arrested. Bunch of non-driving asshats thinking there 150 hp car is invincible.

you should add pre-paid legal contract as a pre-requisite to joining this shit.

I love the sound of a group of D's rocking out together. But the Cannonball is a race that's pretty reasonable. It's usually won by two guys in an RV.

Now the way that the movie does it they have checkpoints and let you hang out overnight. That would be cool. But today's roads aren't like the roads back then.

Enter for the Amazing Race. They need participants.
 
Not to mention most of the participants of the Cannonball are rich mofos. Getting ticketed for $3-400 every now and then isn't shit to them.

If you get a bunch of broke teenagers or stupid adults(I am almost positive they will be the only ones that will show up)nobody will be able to finish the race. This will be due to wrecks, huge fines that will basically bankrupt them, and/or getting arrested.

I mean, it's a cool idea, but I just don't see it happening.

yeah the thought of it, oh well i rather go find a country road, speed limit 55, go five over, listen to music and cruise with some friends.

as for a bunch of d series running together i am down, even though really mines just a dohc zc but theoritically its a d series.

I am jsut rying to help him get the interest out. It would prob be a east coast thing start and finish somewhere along the esta coast. If you want more info visit the site. It is not jsut for Rice, it is for regular cars as staqted previously and thing toher than a high priced mercedes or waht not.
 
No, the Cannonball is straight through. Look at some of the records - 19 hours and the like. The Cannonball also has a 1979 cut off year for participating cars.

You may be thinking of the Gumball.
 
no east coast run is going to be that long... RI to Orlando is like 26 hours.. thats two days of driving, if you wish to split it up. Face it, this idea will only attract police, and a lot of em. A cop will not do much to a guy in a ferrari 360, he'll want to take pictures, sit it in, and maybe go for a ride... whereas if he pulled a "tuner" civic or wrx hes gonna want to make sure ther are no stolen parts, make sure everything is legal, and try to fuck you in every possible way. Gumball is full of milionaires, its put on by a millionaire, that millionaire knows people, i doubt you do. THat same millionaire takes most of the necessary precautions and talks to local law enforcement where they plan to drive through. YOu tell a bunch of cops that 3243324 cars that come to a total of 342344234843824 dollars is strolling through, they get gitty. You tell them that a bunch of civic's are comin through, theyll be pissed.

why? becuse you already dropped the soap? ok ok all i have to say is that if it can be controlled like the super street tour to nopi nationals then it wont be as bad. but you still have idiots who do stupid stuff then. imagine 40 ricers together doing this, carnage, oh the carnage.
