some might not like this thread, but oh well. no ones perfect.

i have somewhat of a lead foot. i love going fast. but i know how to handle myself, and what is safe/unsafe for my abilities and situations. i light of this, ive run into good old state patrol quite a few times and other county patrol a few as well. both in and out of state.

fist time getting pulled over, in my first car (90 crx si). 1 month after getting my liscence. i admit i was inexpericed and reckless, but what 16 y/o isnt. got tagged for 53 in a 35. pulled over, cop gave me the whole lisc./registration thing, and told me what i had been pulled over for. in my defense i REALLY did think it was a 45 zone. i told her that, but i dont think she bought it. she gave me a big speech about how it was only 1 month after getting my lisence, even told me she should make me write an essay, lmao. for some reason like 2 other patrol cars pulled up and se was laughing to them about the essay thing "you guys think i should make him write an essay?". she let me off with a warning.

pulled #2. driving to work still in the first crx. was a little late, and got nabbed at 45 in a 25. nothing real exciting, just took the ticket. later went to court and got a PBJ for 18months (probation before judgement, basically just pay the fine with no points).

pulled #3. driving to school in my b18c1 91 crx. a little late again. cop got me not 2 minutes from my house, 41 in a 25. speedo was broken (snapped cable) cop gave me the routine took my info and went back to his car. came back asking to see the vin number. apparently the DMV messed up the registration card and put a 2 in front of the vin# and it didnt match in the computer. well for whatever reason of another the vin plate wasnt on the dash. never has been, since i bought the car, and theres no holes from one used to be. its like it was never there. cop turned into a dick saying things like "what, did you chop this car all up or something?" i showed him the vin in the door jamb and he went back. came back with a fix it ticket and the speeding ticket. i was a little upset about the speeding ticket cause of the speedo situation (didnt know how fast) and he snapped at me again. threatened to impound the car for being "unsafe". then stood there for a minute and let me go. went to court, showed documentation that the speedo was broken and fixed. judge didnt care and didnt look at it, reduced me to 1 point + fine.

pulled #4. 1 month later. same cop, same place. 39 in 25. he recognized me and made some remark about me speeding again. pretty routine, he informed me that he looked it up, and my car had been stolen and recovered in NJ (where i bought the car from) so thats probably why there was no vin tag on the dash. gave me my ticket and i was on my way. payed the ticket and took the 2 points. didnt want to deal with the judge given the close proximity of the tickets, lol.

pulled #5 in the 95 integra. about 2 years went by. i was on my way home for winter break from college. got tagged on the highway for 83 in a 65. cop was very polite and reduced my speed to 74. went to court, judge asked me if i had any violations in the last 3 years, i say i had (2 years), and he says that hes not gonna cut me a break with PBJ but will reduce my penalty. goes to reduce the speed then without realizing the cop already reduced my speed says, "oh you werent going that fast, were you?" and decided to give me PBJ for 1 day, and a 35 dollar fine. lol. i was quite happy about that.

pulled #5.5 in the teg. i say 5.5 cause i never actually got pulled over. i was late for dinner at my GF's house. and went by a state trooper on the highway doing about 90 (65 zone). he pulls out late because of traffic. i was pretty sure he was comming after me, given the circumstances, but im never fully sure. so i just kept going until he caught up with me much later. he was now 1 car behind me, the vehicle behind me happened to be a large moving truck, like uhaul. and his veiw of me was completely blocked. i was in the left lane. i ducked into traffic and slowed down and blended in without the cop seeing my move. when the truck got out of his way, he was none the wiser and kept going. i took my exit and that was that. im not sure if he really missed me or he wasnt comming after me at all. his lights were on though. but if he was comming for me, im sure he was quite mad that i got away.

pulled #6 in the teg. driving home late from my GF's. i was very tired and not really paying attention to the speed (on top of trying to just get home as fast as possible before i fell asleep). got pulled over for 66 in a 50. cop took all my information and came back and just gave me a warning. young guy, seemed nice. i was on my way.

pulled #7 in the teg. 2 weeks later, same spot, same cop. this is a trend, lol. again it was late comming home from the GF's. i dont think the cop recognised me (he didnt say anything about it). comes up to the car, i have my information ready, says "hey you were doing 61 in a 50, im just gonna give you a warning, be right back". i could say anything but laugh and say thanks, lol. again i was on my way.

pulled #7.5 in the teg. on the highway. i was actually following a cop who was speeding. i was pacing him at about 80-85 (65 zone), trying not to follow too close. i guess he didnt like it, because he hit the brakes (i let off the gas, no brakes slowed to 70ish) and got behind me. pretty much tailgating me. i switched lanes and he switched over right behind me. then after a while he just left, but gave me a dirty look when passing me. that was quite an odd experience, lol.

pulled #8 in the teg. a few months later. at school in WV. driving to class. theres this one section of road, uphill and turning. you have to keep the RPMs up or you will slow down. well i was passing someone (who was speeding too) and a cop going the other direction sees me, when he passes, he hits his lights and pulls a u-turn in the middle of the road. i KNOW hes comming for me, but i kept going just in case i could slip away, but if not i can always play dumb. he catches up and i turn off, he turns off too and gets right behind me. i had to stop cause a school bus was stopped in the road (i was gonna pull over at this point anyway). cop gets out, and tells me to pull over ahead. i say ok and pull over. he comes up to the car and says he pulled me over for doing 71 in a 45. goes back to his car and comes back with the ticket. i sign it and he left. i sat there looking at the ticket looking for the fine amount. but i had to call the court. 200 bucks. i decided not to fight it, and just payed the ticket, since points dont trasfer between WV and MD.

pulled #9. driving to the GF's house. i was speeding, and spotted a cop taking radar. immediately slowed down. he pulled out and followed me for a long time. then turns his lights on and pulls me over. at this point i thought he got me for speeding. comes up and tells me he pulled me over for no front tag. gives me a warning and i go on my way.

so there are my stories. theres been plenty of times where i thought a cop got me, but either didnt, or didnt care to come after me. as many of you can see i have a problem, lol. but like i said i know how to handle myself, my car, and i know what is safe, and when its safe to speed. the only thing i cant control is other people but ive gotten pretty good at spotting the idiots and staying away from them. and im seeking help in the form of track racing :)

share your stories if you like :). and sorry for the long post. lol

I don't even have to post mine...

:D
oh fucking :werd:

I've only been pulled over for speeding 2 times...first time was nothing exciting...second one was a 81 in a 40:ph34r::ph34r::ph34r: I was late for work, it was a early sunday morning, about 4:45am, the sun was barely coming out and were ZERO cars on the road. Motorcycle copper pulls me over in the parking lot of my job(I was working at AutoZone at the time) he reduces it to 69 since 30+ over the speed limit is an automatic year suspension of your license. I had just turbo'd the B16 in my 89 4 door civic, god I got to 81 fast as hell:D:D:D

yea, im MD the break down is:

1-9mph over = 1 point +fine
10-29mph over = 2 points + fine
30+ = 5 points + fine

with the exception of 65mph zones in which
20+ = 5 points + fine

5 points total results in suspension too if i recall, cant remmeber how long though, i think like 30-60 days.
7-8 points is like 6mo- 1yr
12+ = liscence revoked. not sure how long

points are active for 2 years, stay on record for 3 years. i believe.

holy crap you guys are lucky...no you wonder you decided to eat the points. Speeding out here, no matter how much over the speed limit your were going, is 2 points. 4 points or more and your license is gone for 1 year.

I've never been pulled over for speeding. I've never been pulled over.

yea md isnt bad at all....

i got pulled over twice since i got my license 4 years ago.
#1 was 65 in a 30 yea haa. coped stoped me in the middle of the road and i was tired going to work late cause i had slept in. he asks were you going in such a hurry, i say work pulls me over to the side. comes over and looks at my licens and says you live right up the road, yea bla bal bla, droped my dads name in the conversation, retired Captain state po po. slow down be carfull its beter to get to work late then never caus an acident. i got a warning i was like thank god

#2. was 8 months ago 2am. had a rough week went out with some friends, coming home, did drink anything was sober as sober could be tired but not drinking and get the red and blue as i leave the town of jarrettsville. its a mile streach at the most thru the town cop says he followed me thru. the speed progresses from 55 to 30 in a total of a 1/4 mile than back to 50 in another 1/4. so im doind 40 in the 3o as we enter and im doind 50 in a 40 as im exiting. so he comes over al lbig shit gun ho cock ass. i try to say something and he wont even listen. he thought i had been drinking, time and place i guess. before he left i gust outright said iv had a horible week sir and my dad is retired MSP. he was like i dont know your father so tuff shit. he came back and said when i hit the siren come out of your car, and come to mine. he gives a huge speach and says my exaust is illigal. ok stock exaust with flowmaster muffler cause it was cheaper than oem replacement so fuck that, and maryland law states mufflerd systems as the requirment, and truckers are not allowed to modife them at all. he tried to tell me the truck law aplied to me but in the end i just got a warning for that to. \

iv done the duck and run thing a few times doing 4th gear pulls down Rt 23 and seen some popo do a turn around but im off the rd before they hi 60mph.

oh and gsrcrxsi learn how to speed. you suck at it lol. i speed everywere and i dont get caught. and when i do i try verry hard to get out of it lol.

The only time i got a speeding ticket was on the 5 around San Juan Capistrano in the ex's Camaro. I was trying to get back home to San diego. I was tired as shit, and it was 3:15 am whne i got stopped. I was doing somewhere around 95 in a 65. the cop was young, and was pretty cool about it. he reduced the speed to 74. He told me that at the speed i was going it should be an automatic impound and i would have had to appear in court. I guess he felt bad though, after i told him that i just was trying to get home and had been driving for 5 hours. I paid about a 200 dollar fine and did the traffic school.

#1. Racing. My civic (2002) (55 in a 45) Cops pulled me over, checked all my info, yelled at me some, had a more important call and left me sitting there with paperwork on my lap. They announced on their loudspeaker to "do not race again!"

#2. Racing. My civic (2003) (60 in a 45) I pulled over before the lights, checks info, seen I was wearing a Brinks uniform and asks if I've considered a career in law enforcement. I tell him I have (which I have/would like to do still). He assures me that racing on the street isn't the way to make that a reality.
Drives off and he does a giant ass burn out.

#3. Racing on the freeway (2004). My Civic (122 in a 55) Cops pulled me over, check info.
Ask me to give them several reasons as to why they pulled me over. "Speeding, racing, not slowing down after i passed you, cutting across 4 lanes to try to avoid you" they laugh. I got out and walked to their car expecting to go to jail and have my car impounded. They question my actions and tell me about all the smoke pouring thru the vents of my car. I assure them it's normal. (tranny leak) They laugh again. I get a warning ticket for speeding.

ALL 3 racing incidents were me racing 90-93 Accords.

#4. OOOPS! (2002/3?)
I just woke up and had to take my friend to work on Thanksgiving Day. I was a little sleeping still and kinda almost ran a (just turned) red light. I slammed on my brakes and slid thru an empty intersection. Copper was waiting at the other side of the intersection. I pulled myself over and she followed. Told me to be careful driving while tired and happy holidays.

#4. Making a left turn into the centerlane instead of the furthest left lane.(2005)
Just thinking of explaining this story makes me pissed off. I called the cop a dickhead to his face.
3 tickets: No proof of insurance, improper position- left turn, unsafe lane change.
Judge agreed the tickets were BS but didn't drop them for me and offered a trial.
I declined, showed my proof of insurance and paid $280 for the 2 tickets.
4 points.

#5. Speeding. My civic (100ish in a 75[traffic was moving at 90+]) (2005) Coming up to the top of a hill on the way back from the Grand Canyon. Cop at bottom of hill with radar. I pull my ebrake and pass him. I see him move so I pull myself over again. He clocked me at 84 and traffic was moving at 90. He knew i was going faster but couldn't prove it with radar. He was a pretty cool guy, talked to me about track racing and such. Warning ticket for 84 in a 75.

Also, every time i go to the track, i keep the numbers on my car as long as possible. The cops see that you're not out to kill people and that you actually take your speeding to the track. They're more likely to let you off the hook for going a few over. ;)

Speeding number 1 - Father's Silverado. Comming back from a late movie, on my 17th birthday. Got nabbed doing 32 in a 25 downhill on an empty road. I was scarred shitless, being not my car, and it being my first ticket. Cop was okay, but read me the riot act about my dad being a firefighter, etc, etc. Written warning.

Speeding number 2 - Old Civic coupe. Had the car on the road about 4 months, was late for school and needed to make time. Passed a school zone at the right speed, then sped up to about 50ish in a 40. Blew by a cruiser going the other way. He whipped it around and tore ass right up to me. Pulled over RIGHT infront of the school. Cop tried saying he clocked me at 60 which was complete bullshit. Wrote me a ticket for $260. Fought it in court, magistrate was cool, no points, $60 fine. Sweet.

Speeding? 2.5 - Old Civic. Driving back from work went by a cop at the speed limit. Cruiser pulls out and follows me all the way to my house. Proceeds to slowly drive by and mean mugs me. Nothing else.

Speeding 3 - Old Civic/New engine. First day back at college and decide to show a friend the mods I did over the summer. Cruise around campus and not a single problem. Pull up to a stop sign, look both ways and nothing. Hit the two-step and launch it from a stop. Hit probably about 80 in a 25. My friend freaks out and says we drove by a campus cop. Shit. I stay in it and hope he doesn't follow us. Too bad. Cop pulls up behind me in a parking lot and I prepare for the worst. Older guy comes up and I give him my reg and the lot. He asks me why I have no back seat or carpet. Lol. I appologize for speeding and being reckless. Turns out he was napping and didn't have radar on. Says he only went after us because we woke him up. Whoops. Hands me my info back and tells me to be safe. We see him 3 minutes later in the same spot. Sleeping.

Speeding? 3.5 - Old Civic/New Engine. Comming back from school on 295N. RI statie comes up behind me in the left lane, and I move over. He follows. No lights. I stay in the lane at 70 for about 13 minutes until he hits the lights. I pull over. He sits behind me for 5 minutes then comes up. I hand him my registration and license. He looks at it and then looks around my car. He asks why theres no interior and I tell him because I don't need any (obviously not saying anything about racing, etc). Cop starts getting edgy and tells me that my exhaust is not stock and that my ride height was clearly altered. I admit to it and he asks if I have any other "illegal" mods. I play dumb and say "not that I know of". He then goes on to ask if I'm from Providence - which I'm not - Mass plates - and goes on a tirade about street racing and how assholes are making the highway unsafe. The guy is convinced I'm some ultra-illegal street racerz with mad modz. Searches my clothes bag (dirty underwear - whoohoo!) and my backpack then sends me on my way vowing that if he sees me on 95 near Providence that I WILL get my car towed and impounded. Asshole.

in reguards to the last story. how the hell can the cop do anything in terms of "illegal mods" when you are out of state? i mean, thats like driving from FL (no emissions) to another state that has emissions, and getting pulled over for modified exhaust or something. stupid.

was 16, went 100mph on a 45mph back road, rear end came loose, slid, hit fire hydrant, got stuck on fire hydrant, off duty highway patrol calls cop, was cool, had to go to court, paid like $220 total +1 insurance point.

This could take a while if I remembered all my infracitions....

One of the advantages of age is that you finally start to forget.

Except for the 3-4 year period ending just before I bought Will's hatch (when I had to be uber carefull due to not having a license and drove 25-40K miles a year in this precarious state) I have only driven the speedlimit as traffic conditons, common sense, and the presence of The Man has dictated.

I have been pulled over probably 25-30 times for various things. Nearly every time I got nailed for actually speeding It was inattention that got me caught, I usually didnt even think I was speeding untilI saw the cop and looked down at the speedo. In a way, on those occaisions I feel I deserved it. If you arent paying attention you shouldnt be driving.

The only two times I recall that I was intentionally speeding, and got caught by Barney Fife hiding in the bushes were BS tickets IMO.

One I was 19 and coming home from at 2:00 am. The stretch of road over the river had 6 lanes, a closed and locked cement company batch plant on one side and nothing but dry riverbed on the other. Nothing around for a mile, noteven any vagrants because, no water, no dumpsters, nobody to panhandle off of. Barney was sitting on his motorcycle waiting behind a sign. I was driving a bug slammed in the weeds and on KYB gas shocks with a front sway bar and twice the HP Wolfsburg originally provided. No headlights as far as the eye can see behind me, no tailights ahead, and 3/4 of a mile to anyplace a car could possibly come from.No trees, no busshes,no where for anything to jump out from except the sign and the cop.

The next Ambush was funny. I was doing 110 late at night in a graymarket GDM Mercedes 350SLC (11:45pm) across the indian reservation on the way to the post office on april 15th. Cop thought it was fun wrote me up at 72. I didnt argue.

Memorable lapses of attention:

I was driving a rental car with no license and a warrant out for a failure to appear. Car didnt have Cruise Control. I was 3 hours from home coming back from Yuma on the Calif/Mexico/AZ border. Notorious speed trap. Its 75mph most of the time, occaisionaly, inexplicably with no change in scenerey, Roscoe changes the signs to 65. Given my legal status, and having my 10 year-old along on the trip I was being cautious, I thought. Some idiot in a VW passat kept passing me then slowing repeatedly. I was just trying to maintain my speed at a steady rate of 75 to no more than 80 with traffic and conserve gas. I moved left to get around him yet once again, when I saw Smokey in the ditch in the median. He ran me down, ran my license, and ran me in.

He was very cool. I got out of the car (that scares them, but I look non-threatening), explained my situation, that I had my daughter with and that I was hours from home. He impounded the car, and chained me to the wall (literally) in the station and let my daughter sit with me and chatter at him for the 3 hours it took for my wife to rent another car and come get her. He even had his wife bring some food for my daughter when she brought him some, since he couldnt leave the building with me chained to the wall. He even neglected to actually write-up the speeding ticket. I spent a little over 24 hours in the care of Yuma county, made bail, and went home to see the judge that had issued the warrant. That judge had been very cool and had given me repeated continuances on a case I had before him for driving on a suspended licence. When I went in, he sentenced me to time served on the underlying ticket, and his office sent in the paperwork recinding the original suspension order - which was funny because he wasnt the one that had suspended it. It was a total different jurisdiction that wanted me to pay 3500 in fines for driving a Suburban that wouldnt pass emmissions with no registration or proof of insurance. I got my license back and payed nothing.

Since getting Wills Hatch, I was getting LOOOONG looks the first month and was pulled over once by the cops. The time I got pulled over I managed to dodge the cops without looking like it long enough in traffic and around enough corners that I was able to slow and put a mile and a half from the infraction. given my age (41) three kids in the car, and maybe the lucky coonskin cap I had on my shaved head, the cop decided not to lie and say that he either 1) radared, 2)tascan-ed or 3)paced me. If I was younger he would have just lied. He just didnt want to admit in court that he'd eyeballed my speed, and I was polite, but steadfastly insisted that, yes I had been on such and such street (where he first sighted me) , and yes I was aware that the speed limit there was 45, and that I had, as far as I knew maintained that limit. Once I finally got rid of the Texas Plate they have left me alone. (took a while, salvage title, two vins, a swap, and an out of state title all required a level three inspection)

My favorite missed ticket was at 19 in the Bug. I was giving the first and last ride to a new roomate. Kevin was a perenialy student in his early 30's. He drove a bug too, but it was stock. He wanted to go for a ride in mine. we passed a cop going the other way in a 25 zone doing 45 to 50. As he started to make a U-turn but before he hit his lights I made an immediate left on a a street that one house later had a 135 degree right followed in a few houses by a 135 degree left. At least two and often four tires were sliding through-out this manuever. before the cop could turn around and hit the first turn I was already 4 blocks away and making my 4th turn into an alley to head back parallel behind those houses. I never saw the cop again that night, and Kevin never rode in my car again.

One of my other rommates later laughed when he told me about a conversation he had with Kevin: "have you ever ridden with him in his bug?" Tony: "Yes, why? "Kevin: "scares the hell outof you doesnt it?"

Most domestically challenging:

Driving to New Mexico (during my un-licenced days) My turn driving, I passed a reservation copgoing the other way. I was going 80ish. Normally, I would just slow with handbrake (to avoid brakelights in his rearview and the dive the front of the car makes) and make him commit to following and pacing me. I couldnt risk it so I sped up to over 100 just over a rise, and then switched seats with my wife on the fly. had her slow down to below the speed limit to throw off the pacing, but it didnt work. He wrote her for speeding and she was not pleased to spend a saturday in defensive driving class.

me and bill went street racing last night :p

he got a 540i 6 spd.

so we wanted to see what it could do.
we did a 4th gear pull... and at 130 i looked around for bill, and he was no where to be found.... lol

Never been pulled over, but I have driven pretty fast on a public road before.

There is this road by my house, kind of like a highway. Anyway, I turned onto this road, driving the poopra, and got up to about 60 when this 90-93 accord pulls up next to me, I guess wanting to race. Well, I got the car up to like 120mph(really stupid and haven't done that since) before shutting down because of a red light.

I thought I was going off the road when I starting going around a small bend doing 100+. Some scary shit.

Oh man...
#1
I was 16, in the old SI. I was going to see my boyfriend, in a hurry. Cause im ALWAYS late, I was doing 51 in a 20 school zone, the cop was undercover and it was the ONLY time I didn't have my radar. I get pulled over.. He comes up to my window and didnt even ask for my license or registration, just stood there.. So im like "uhhh?" finally I just hand it to him. my boyfriend drives by.. and sees me.. lol, the cop comes back and hands me a ticket, and tells me to SLOW IT DOWN!

#2 Going to the river with friends, get pulled over for not having a front plate, tell the cop I dont like front plates and am not putting one on.. he gives me a warning, but asks for my proof of insurance, and it was expired.. get a ticket for that, go to court, the judge drops it

#3 (kinda) really late at night, going to see my friend, and run a red light..my friend screams at me and says "YOU JUST RAN A RED LIGHT!!! your lucky theres no cops out!" and bam, i see lights behind me "FUCK!" the cop gave me a warning.. probably because I was wearing a really low cut shirt or something..

#4 -parking ticket, i took up two spaces because I didnt want anyone hitting my car, some fatass hoe with a fanny pack stuck the ticket on my windshield... bitch

#5 My friend and I were hauling ass down the highway, shes behind me in her accord, right behind me, doing the exact same speed - 76, the cop gets my ass and lets her go, he gives me a warning, (i think its cause when i was little he pushed me off our families trampoline and gave me a bloody nose)

#6 parking ticket, at my boyfriends house, i parked on the wrong side of the street, and NO ONE ever gets parking tickets in this town, of course.. i do. he does out to my car, sees the ticket, starts laughing and hands it to me..

#7 I was going out to breakfast with some friends, we were hungry. i was doing about 85 on the highway, and was going so fast I came up behind a cop, he turns his lights on, so i pull in behind him, my cars almost outta gas, he asks me to pull infront of him, he tells me he didnt have his radar on but knows i was speeding, and well i told him he cant give me a ticket cause he had no proof, warning. but my car would hardly start cause i was so low on fuel that i have to rev the fuck outta it, and he gets all pissy

#8 - the next morning, at 7 am on the same road. im going 81, my radar starts going off so i slow down to 64, the cop nails me at 81.. gives me a ticket for speeding and no front plate...

*the end*

Buried the speedo in my dad's Sunfire. I don't know how fast I was going, but I had about two grand left in the top gear after it passed 130MPH on its way back around.

Never been caught speeding, I usually keep it under control and within the speed limit as I drive.
