i just got discharged from the air force

I got the mail saturday and found out i'm officially discharged from military service. i spent 4 years in the air force from july of '99 to july of 2003. I got my fancy little certificate stating i completed my duty and have an honorable discharge. i have been out for 3 years, but you have inactive reserve also.

so now i'm officially done. i can't get drafted now either. i can't get called back for ww3 or anything. i'm out for good.

i've been celebrating since july 7, 2003. this is just like the official "we're done with you" point. but i will have a beer and toast to shitty jobs and to kick ass websites.

nice. it's weird though. they send the regular air force certificate and a letter telling you to send back any id cards. i was like, wtf? ok.

i got till march 2008...The only good think i got a email to all Inactive reservists saying if you have less than a year and half of inactive we wont even think of calling you up. So im in the clear

i pretty much haven't done all the reporting i was suppose to do. the only thing i have done is my mgib shit. that is the best thing that could have happened to me is getting all that college money.

interesting. my brother is goign to be done in Dec and was thinking about doing the inactive reserve to resume the little extras like disouncts and stuff.

inactive reserve is exactly that, "inactive". i have no affiliation with the military anymore. i think you are thinking of the regular reserve. inactive reserve is when you are done with your enlistment and basically waiting to make sure ww3 doesn't happen.
