I want 400 hp. I will be using stock sleeves but I might opt for some if I find a good deal. I have been researching turbos and found that there are alot to choose from. Daily I want 300 ish and at the track I would want 400 ish. NOw waht have anyone heard about the sc50? What other turbo's whould you guys recommend? I have about 400 to 500 to spend on it. Setup might be going on either a b16 or ls vtec

its not gona hapen. but that is ok, a good used garett turbo is fine as long as you have little to no shaft play,a nd its not leaking oil. i would say you have to have sleves if you want to hit 400 hp. that is a hell of a step off of 300 hp. a sotck b series on a great tune can run 300hp. after that you are going to need forged pistons and rods. atleast. a big t3/t4 would work great. be a bit laggy wich is great for getting traction, and can pull all the way to redline. oh by the way that is what the turbo you were looking at is. and get the compresso and the turbine with the .63 ar if you can..

It wont be on a stock block. I already have the srp forged pistons, eagle rods and other stuff to go with the build

I wil say that you probably won't hit that mark. I'm hoping to build a 300whp budget on a 1K budget, but most of that will be on the turbo. sc61 is a bare minimum for me. You will probably be looking at a larger t3/t4, maybe even a gt35 to make the power you want. If you want a usable powerband, look at spending around 800 for a turbo, 700 maybe if you get a great deal.

Dont get me wrong here but there's alot of (non sleeved) b-series out there pushing well over 400whp. It's just a matter of how long it'll last! But hey i'm on a b16 build shooting for 400hp on stock sleeve (je 9:1 comp pistons and eagle rods).. I'm going to use turbonetics t3 60-1 .63 a/r. I'm sure this turbo will be more then enough!

SC61 and GT35 share the same compressor wheel. If you want a step up from the SC61 look into the GT37/40/42, or even the large frame turbos (e.g. something bigger than a 61mm).

i dont think youre gonna hit that mark on a b16. Josh (hotrex/ccfab) blew his fully built engine at 390ish. The tune wasnt the problem either.

400hp on a b16 is possible, the link below is just a quick search under "B16" in evans tuning's dyno database, theres a few in there that hit and eclipsed the 400hp mark. Its all about the tune.

Evans Tuning :: Search

I guess it wont let me link to the search results, just type in b16 under the search keyword and just look under the forum sub heading "dyno graphs"

edit: if you look i only saw 2 off of the top of my head that hit 400 on pump gas with a b16, but it is possible

Go to Full-Race.com. They have the capable hp of all their turbos. I don't think there is one that cheap for that much power.
:werd: it won't be cheap

:werd: x2 It won't be cheap, and tuning is EVERYTHING on such a high strung engine. I don't think you realize how much 400whp is on a street driven honda.

Does anyone have experience with this vendor? They have several good reviews on evolutionm and honda-tech but I just wanted to see if anyone had personal experience with them. That full Garrett T3/04E 50 trim in a .63 5 bolt housing looks very tempting for the price.

Yes I do. I can fully recommend them for anything they offer.
