The Riced Sleeper
So lately i've been considering the idea of either going back to the desert, trukey, or any other country as a civilian contractor, probably for dynacorp

Reasons for going: make more money, bout 5x times what I'm making now a month, provide better for my baby on the way.

Reasons for not going: Won't be here when she's born, always away from home, might not make it back to see her grow up:

Decisions decisions.

Dude,

I'm a government contractor and I have the same dilemma. I say don't do it because family is the most important thing besides Honda's. I was offered a job back in Pakistan at 250,000.00/year tax free and I turned it down because frankly I almost died there twice and I don't need the third time to be the charm. Stay safe and alive, pick a country like Qatar and bring your family with you. You can still make oaround 100K to 150K tax free and be safe.

Fuck that. 12 Hours a day. 6 days a week. In Baghdad? Sounds like army just for a lot more money.

Yea I'm used to it though, that's almost the same shifts I worked when I was there in the air force, plus just about every base AF cops go they work 12 + hours a day. It's not the hours I mind just the risk

why not stick around with your wife and kid??
Wife??? No not yet, already been down that road and I'm not rushing back yet. But I'd love to be here with them I'm just looking at being prepared later down the road, financially
