so i was watching the vga on spike yesterday and saw a commercial for a new show called bull run. it just showed lots of badass cars and high speed chases, cops, etc...

well i looked it up and i guess its basically like cannonball run except they are taping it all to air it on tv as a series.

lots of celebrities and shit, but look it up. alot of cool cars

lol watch some of the top 10 clips. they have a guy with a decomisioned thunderbird jet racing a lambo.
the first clip is pretty funny too.

I actually entered an aplication for my friend to be in there. You've got to make a video of your car and why you think you should be accepted. Never called me back though.
 
i sent in a tape also. i think they were looking for show cars though. they wanted a mix of cars and trucks. i thought i had a good chance but my teammate didn't know shit about cars and they wanted both people to know how to work on cars.

it was recorded from oct 16-26 down I-5 from vancouver canada to la. it would have been fun, but i guess they already had an import car.
 
My shopmate was talking about this last night. Where on the site are the prerequisites for what they are looking for ?

believe it or not, i was called by a Spike TV rep to be on that show. problem was, i had no partner who was female and over 21. :(

so, who wants to do it with me next year? i have to call her and let her know that i have my car back running?

i'm going to be looking for a partner for the next episode. i figure i didn't get picked for the show because i had a shitty teammate. anyways, here's your info. i'm surprised i still have it.

Please read the following information in its entirety so that your footage will be what we need in order to pitch you to the network. Make sure ALL the information/questions located in this email, in the attachment, and in any further emails you may receive from me is included on your tape. If not, you may be disqualified.
With that said, CONGRATULATIONS!!! We are SO EXCITED about your interest in this new and exciting TV event! You have an awesome chance at winning big in this epic journey and competition!!
Within 48 hours, I need two Good, Quality pix of each of you (individually) emailed to me. Make sure they are not taken from too far away, or in dark lighting. Also, I need at least two pictures of you guys together AND several pictures of the car you plan to drive (choose ONE car and focus on that ONE car the entire time)!!!!
I have attached the following format to refer to when preparing your footage. Remember to be expressive, candid and detailed when answering all questions (we love energy and emotion...and Stories!). We want to see you in action, excited and all personality. DO NOT censor yourselves! We DO NOT want you to edit your footage. We want the raw footage and our editors will cut it together for a great piece to show us. Please begin your footage with a full-body introduction. In addition to the attached format (please READ the attachment BEFORE taping), include the following on camera (no particular order). You should have a third party filming you, this makes for better footage. You should BOTH answer these:

  • Begin your introduction by saying "Hello My name is _________, my co-pilot is__________ and THIS is the car that I am going to drive on the show. A ________________(year, model, make, this car is badass because, we love this car because, this car will kick your car's ass, talk about the car...a lot!) *EVERY time you are talking about your car you need to be around or in your car/shop, etc!!!*

1** For the first 15 minutes or so of taping you should both talk about the car. We want tons of footage of your team and your CAR. Tell us ALL the details about it!! We want to see it inside and out and under the hood!!! Tell us stories that correlate to it. We want to SEE how knowledgable you are about cars, BOTH of you!! IT IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT YOU SHOW US THAT BOTH TEAM MEMBERS KNOW HOW TO WORK ON CARS. TELL US VERY SPECIFIC THINGS THAT YOU HAVE DONE TO YOUR CAR OR TO CARS IN THE PAST TO PROVE TO US THAT YOU KNOW CARS INSIDE AND OUT!!
<LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Tell us lots of interesting stories about yourself/your car, etc. Show us the shop/driveway/whatever where you work on the cars. We seriously want you to build yourself up, talk about yourselves...A LOT...and be over the top!! No kidding. DO NOT FILM YOUR CAR AT NIGHT or IN THE CAR AT NIGHT WITH NO LIGHT!!

2** The next section of your tape should be the interview questions (answer the questions on the attachment first then answer the questions below!)

  • <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Explain why you each Love cars and how you came to love them, etc. Tell us stories about you and cars and your passion for cars! <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Tell us a little about your background/childhood <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Tell us about what you each do for a living and (show us where you work, if possible). <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Tell us the history of how you met, why you two are good friends, etc. <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Tell us some stories about you two together (anything that you've done together that stands out, working on vehicles together, being crazy together, etc.) <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Do you or do you not get crazy/wild? Do you party? show us. Who parties harder? <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Any airforce experience you'd like to share? (include the cop t-boning you story) <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">How do people react to each of you? (i.e. Do they think you are nerdy, arrogant, shy, etc.) <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Is there a certain reason you are still single? (i.e. don't want to get married, girls think you are too cocky, etc.) <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">What else do you each do for fun? Hobbies? Show us some footage. <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Describe your personalities and what are your quirks? <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Do you share the same views on most things or are you opposites? <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Tell us about any rallies/races/car shows/etc. you have been in. Also, tell us what you have won <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Tell us how you two butt heads - we want STORIES!! <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Does your car have a name? If so, tell us. <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Explain in detail your competitive drive. SHOW US. Are you usually a winner or a loser? How do you react to each? <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Tell us stories that show how competitive you are or are not, whether it be together or apart or even better, BOTH <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Describe your relationship with your driving partner? Why do you make an amazing team? How might you not make such an amazing team? Why are you guys a dynamic duo (show us)? <LI class=MsoNormal style="tab-stops: list .5in">Give us a 10-20 sec spill (together) to sell yourselves (and be creative, don't just say "we love cars, pick us") - we love uniqueness ;)
  • Repeat and elaborate on the things that we talked about over the telephone and that you wrote on your application
3** Thirdly, we want CANDID Footage. Also, we want to see any footage on separate tapes you may have that may be appealing to us (ie. race footage, work footage, hobbies, etc.)
  • WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT FOOTAGE ON MINI DV TAPE OR VHS. NO EXCEPTIONS.

**You MUST have your tapes to me ON TUESDAY 9/12/06. It is VERY important to get your tape to me by your promised date because casting ends next week!!! When overnighting footage, remember to retrieve a tracking number. We can't wait to view all your material. REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN, BE YOURSELVES, AND SEND LOTS OF FOOTAGE!!!! We want to see the REAL you, in ACTION!!! Don't hesitate to call or email me with any questions!

From the appearance, it may have been your car that didn't make the grade. Because if they judge you by a video, and you're not modelling skin cream, then chances are it's not something I should be part of.

Now, if you wanna add some sort of cool persona to the mix, I'm amassing the bits to build a von-dutch style hot rod - and I kinda make the grade on the psychobilly that belongs behind the wheel.

They may be interested in the Vega, but that thing does 4000 rpm at 70 and I'm not driving that across my state, let alone the country.

Some of the steel in that competition is pretty nasty. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Panoz, Bugatti... fuck that. Dude, we're too fucking poor to be a shoe-in for that show.
 
they told me all i'd have to do was submit the video... she told me they really wanted girls who knew about cars. i can almost guarantee a spot next year. any takers?
 
a friend's evo... or my integra. ;) it was going to be me and Nikki, but she's not 21, so I had to find another partner. No one could make it (and they didn't want couples on the show) so I had to bow out.

The integra should be fast(er) by the time it comes around again... if not, I'll see what I can do about a car. But, I need a partner. I still have Holland's number...

and to be honest... those exotics don't belong to people on the show. I was told there are a few who were, but most are supplied to them... so....
 
What a gyp. I not only won't participate in that show, I won't watch it either.

I'll be in my garage building the future.
